My 2 favorites are Carl Crawford and you. Crawford I enjoy watching because he can do it all. But I enjoy watching you because you bring so much flair and emotion to the mound every time you pitch. Can't wait to see you play in Detroit Dontrelle it should be a fun year.

1. Brandon Phillips- Mr. 30-30. Plays great defense(should have won the gold glove last year) All around gun to watch. Nice guy too, met him at the Reds Caravan.
2.Carl Crawford- Fast as hell and I love speed players. I've watched him hit at least 2 inside the park home runs live
3. Ryan Freel- I nicknamed him Human Highlight Freel. The guy plays every out like it's his last.

Melky Cabrera, without a doubt. He plays the game like a Little Leaguer in that he has boundless energy and seems to truly adore playing the game. He puts 100% into every play. He's great out there in center field. Torre has said that Melky treats it like his own personal playground (and insisted that it was a compliment) . Watching him in the dugout or interacting with his teammates is great, too. He's cheerful and fun (he watched an entire half-inning with an empty sunflower seed box on his head).
Other Yankees on my list:
Jorge Posada (guy's scrappy as hell. I love that he's never worn batting gloves)
Alex Rodriguez (yeah, yeah, a lot of people don't like him, but he's incredibly graceful and he has one of the sweetest swings I've ever seen. And he refuses to slide feet-first)
Ian Kennedy (He's got the Mike Mussina set and knuckle curve. He's going to be the best out of the Yankees big-three young pitchers. Mark my words)

Frank Robinson, Jim Palmer, Brooks Robinson, Cal Ripken, Jr. and his brother Billy. I'd also pay to watch Earl Weaver manage. That guy was crazy.

You're pretty fun to watch, too. Josh Beckett, is a beast. Randy Johnson use to mesmerizes me. I also love watching the Roger "Rocket" Clemons. He had a swagger on the mound like no other.

Now, are we just talking about baseball. Because, Dominik Hasek was the reason I started watching hockey. Man, he was amazing. That's my dude

here's my top 5 favorite guys to watch play ball:
1. jose reyes -- he's got a cannon for an arm and out of control speed. i love watching him play because his speed affects the game around him...pitchers have to pay attention to him, shorten their stride / leg kick, and keep him close to whatever bag he's on; catchers have to know where he is at all times, and hitters know when they ground the ball to short, they better hustle down the line or they're meat.
2. ryan freel -- one of those guys that us "everyday" people can relate to when it comes to stature, but has to outwork everyone else to get where he is. he busts his butt on every single play, runs into walls, breaks up double plays, get's down and dirty every day, and does the same thing the next day. sure, he doesn't hit 500 ft. home runs, but he makes the most out of what God's given him, and i respect that a great deal.
3. troy tulowitzki -- plays amazing "d" up the middle, and can do some things with the 'ole lumber. very fundamentally sound in all facets of the game, and has a very business-like approach. very deserving of his record contract extension.
4. russ martin -- plays everyday at a very tough position, and even steals a decent amount of bases...which is really uncommon for catchers nowadays. plays great defense, calls a pretty good game, handles the rotation, and swings a mean bat too. only going to get better.
5. tim lincecum -- i know he had mixed success this season, but his stuff is as good as anyone i've ever seen. once he get's his full command of all his pitches, he's going to be dominant. i don't care how crazy his mechanics are, and how he doesn't fit the "prototype" of the ideal pitcher, his stuff and his work ethic are going to make him one of the best pitchers in baseball within the next 2-3 seasons.

Eric byrnes- the guy brings it every game and has some flat out amazing grabs
Eric Chavez- sick with the glove
Carloz Zambrano- pitches with passion and can hurl

I actually posed a similar question over at my place the other day, and you were in my Top 5 - with Aaron Rowand, Jake Peavy, Greg Maddux and Huston Street. I'd also add Kerry Wood, Curtis Granderson and Vlad Guerrero to the listl.

Pablo Ozuna- Lightning in a bottle, always makes something happen whenever Ozzie puts him in the line-up. I am looking forward to him coming back from his leg injury this year and contributing to my ChiSox.

thanks d. freel's definitely one of the "scrappy" guys...kind of like eckstein -- an overachiever, but i wanted to give him his props for playing as hard as he does. i've been out in the RF stands quite a few times when he's crashed into those walls out there...i'm kind of surprised there's not any permanent indentions in the walls pads. i definitely agree with your addition of "o-dog" (o. hudson)...he's one of the more underrated players out there, and plays the best defensive 2b out there.

hey D-train! Phillies fan here so I gotta go with Jimmy Rollins/Chase Utley. Those guys are worth the admission price. I love goin to the games. would have liked to see you in a phitin phills uniforn though. there's no place like philly.

Jimmy Rolling, Chase Utley, and Shane Victorino are some of my favorites to watch...of course I'm a bit biased.

As a Phils fan, D-Train, you were one of my favorite rival players to watch. On the mound and at the plate!!! You going to DH in Detroit?!?!?!?!? Might have to root FOR you there! Love to watch J Roll and the 2008 NL MVP Chase Utley. Gonna miss Aaron Rowand big time but I think the Flyin' Hawaiian will hold his own in CF this year and years to come. And of course, love to watch the moon shots that Ryan Howard hits. Hate the Mets, but like and respect David Wright. Manny and Big Poppi are fun to watch. Still have a ton of respect for Jeter.

Wow...Bourn? He is fast as hell!

I was so upset they included him in the Brad Lidge deal. I wanted Bourn to at least try replace Rowand in center. Definitely not with power numbers but with speed and disrupting the opposing pitchers.

Bro, if Bourn can get on base at a decent clip .340+ and starts regularly, he'll swipe over 50 bags easily.

Right now, one of the only guys that I'll go out of my way to watch play is Tim Lincecum. He's real young and raw. Sky's the limit and it's exciting to see his progression.

One of my favorites is the dude you were at the Pistons game with on Friday. Curtis Granderson. He really stepped up his game last year and he was phenomonal in the outfield. He is just an all around great player. When it comes to clutch though, I don't think you can top Jeter and Ortiz. Pitching wise, I gotta go with Becket and the Tigers young gun Verlander.

Don't want to sound like an ass-kisser but you gotta love the pictching syle of yourself, too, Dontrelle. You are fun to watch.

Yooooouuuuuukkkk! Every pitch, every at bat, he gets the most out of what he's got. And Papelbon, there's electricity in every pitch. And just so I don' t sound like such a homer; Joba has my attention. I'll never change the channel when he's on the mound.

I dislike and root against all Detroit Opponents!

However, the players I hate the most because they're too darn good...and KILL THE TIGERS! (I wish they were on my team)

1. Albert Pujols - He killed us in the World Series and always hits homeruns in right-center field at Co-Merica
2. Chien-Ming Wang - If he's on his game...nobody can touch'em
3. Daisuke Matsuzaka - This guy could pitch 10 innings if you let him. He never gets tired!
4. Grady Sizemore - He always seems to come up with the big hit against us, or awesome fielding.
5. Bobby Jenks - Say good night when he comes in with the lead.
6. Justin Morneau - Just like Sizemore he always comes up with a big play.
7. Joe Mauer - He's able to hit balls out of the strike zone and somehow get on base. Similar to Pujols.
8. Johan Santana - Mr. Strikeout.
9. Jim Thome - Pulls everything! Sets on the fastball and is a sucker for the left handed slider/curve
10. Derek Jeter - Just a great player in all areas of the game.
11. Matt Holliday - Glad he's in the National league cus I know he'd kill the Tigers.
12. Carl Crawford - Should be on every list of tough players to play against. Great base runner.
13. Kelvim Escobar - Solid Starter with great control and movement. Have a feeling we will see him in the playoffs this year.

Tigers I love to watch:
1. Placido Polanco - Knows how to make contact with the ball...and can find the weakness in the defense
2. Magglio Ordonez - He's a tough out that pitchers hate to face in a tough situation. I love his swing.
3. Justin Verlander - I love the 99 mph fastball and the 78 mph changeup...it's unfair! M
