Golden State Warriors: Nellie has only himself to blame for slide

With three games remaining and the Warriors now one game behind for the eighth and final spot, every game is a must win game. This is the time of the season when a coach wants to unleash everything he has, and finds out how well he's conserved his team for the stretch.

Perhaps Nellie has some blame here; however, what else does he have in his arsenal? Mario Bellenelli? He can shoot, but appears overwhelmed by the quickness of NBA players; Wright will be impactful in the future; Pietreus had a contract distraction and injuries; Croshere has been inconsistent, and Barnes had to deal with family matters. So, add that to no mid season free agent availability, poor free throw shooting, and abysmal 3 point shooting recently; Nellie isn't the only Warrior problem!

I agree! I'm sure there will be some drastic changes to the roster next season. I hope Baron comes back next season. He is the glue that keeps that team together along with Jack, and Ellis. Wright is still developing as a player but he has a bright future ahead of him. Azebuke can and will get better with time. Barnes...I wonder what the outcome for him will be with the Warriors. He's had such an off season. I know he has the ability to be better but with his personal issues and the lack of playing time explains why he is not playing at his best. I just hope that things begin to look up for them because right now there chances of making the playoff are very slim!

I really hope to see Barnes back to last years form.
He is so athletic.
And yes I do place some of the blame on Nelly - but I also give him a lot of credit.
The Warriors had thier best season in years. It is just unfortunate that they are in such a stacked confrence.
If they were in the east they would have clinched a spot and would be resting the starters a little more.
It's hard to say what would've happened if the Warriors would have made a real move for some presence in the paint - rather than wasting a bunch of time with Webber - only to go back to the small ball line up that people have figured out how to shut down.

Yeah...Webber was an experiment. Too bad the relationship between him and the Warriors lasted for only a short time. You made a good point about them clinching a spot in the east because the West has a larger number of teams with 50+ wins than the East. Dallas just clinched the 7th spot in the West. So the only spot up for grabs right now is the 8th between Denver and Golden State. Everyone else in the West has secured a spot. The Warriors really needed that win last night. Unfortunately, this was a major set back for them so now they really and truly need to step up their game! I think Barnes, Pietrus and Azebuke should have been given more minutes this season. How do they expect for them to become better if they are riding the bench!

I think Stephen Jackson's play hasn't been good as of late. He scored 18 and 20 points the last 2 games, but before that, he scored 6, 14, 2 and 6. Total is an average of 11 PPG for the past 6 games. The Warriors can't win without him.

Not even a rumor yet but just image this summer ... Baron Davis traded for Elton Brand.

Hold on. Think about it ... Brand handles the defensive and rebounding deficiencies and Monta and Stack can pick up the slack. Diddy hits a decent team in LA. Sure, you'd lose the intangibles and the beardos, but let's make it happen

ay warriors fans dont ya'll worry i'm pretty sure boom and the crew will get it done and make the playoffs.......

I sure hope so. At this point all the stars will have to align but it is possible.
The Nugs will need to have a massive choke-fest, and the Warriors will need to beat Pheonix at home.
It could happen.....
