My Week

What a week I had. In between workouts with my teammates at the NovaCare Complex, I was able to take care of some business.

On Monday, I taped the Fashion Challenge for the 10! Show that will air this Monday. The taping was at Philadelphia University and consisted of PU design students showcasing their designs in men's casual wear. All four designers did a great job, unfortunately we had to cut one. Afterwards I was able to see some of the campus and that was amazing. I can't believe such a nice campus is tucked away in that area.

Tuesday it was off to Syracuse for a variety of events. That night I spoke to the Syracuse University Sports Managements Students who hosted a fundraising event to benefit the American Diabetes Association. Besides being given the opportunity to speak to the attendees, I had the honor of presenting Kyle Lograsso with the Perseverance in Sports Award. I had heard about Kyle from a segment on HBO's Real Sports and I was inspired. Kyle is a 6-year old golf prodigy who had his left eye removed due to cancer. What a great kid from a very loving family.

Wednesday Coach Greg Robinson asked me to speak to the SU Football team. I can't believe that it is 10 years since I sat as a player in that room. It was great to see the players and staff and get a workout in at the new weight room. The rest of the day it was down to business making several appearances to promote blood pressure awareness – check out www.BPsuccesszone.com - with my parents on behalf of Novartis.

Looks like you're enjoying the off-season, I'm glad to see you're rehabbing well. We cant wait to you guys get back on the field and dominate the NFC East again, Will you be at the draft party? I wish and the rest of the team the best of luck this season, tell Andy and Heckert to draft Devin Thomas....thought I'd throw that in there. Much Love, Peace, and Blessings.

MA MAN Donovan....ouch missed the episode of the 10! show with you heard about your SU trip hope you did your job and had fun am glad you particapted in the charity event....Buhh i'm sure your used to hearing this...you need a playmaker......i know you told us to be patient and I know you guys must have something planned but you know as a fan we're always going to be impatient lol hell i can honestly tell you i'm looking forward and cant wait til #5 is throwing a bomb to whoever you have out there.....good luck to you and your offseason training buddy just know YOU HAVE PHILLY BEHIND YOU 100% tc bro

Hey Don. Man it's great to finally have an offseason where you don't have to focus on rehabbing...It's good to see you using this offseason so well, both with charities as well as conditioning. Good luck with the rest of your schedule, and let's all keep our eyes on the prize like you are! Great hearing from you.

what's up don? good to hear from you...draft days just around tthe corner, I hope the fo answers back by getting you some help, ya know what I mean........I'am pretty sure you have your own personal pick in mind, well, here's mine...... at #19 devin thomas or james hardy in the 2nd, we all know those 3000+yds,30+tds are just a playmaker away..... Have a great offseason, can't wait to see ya rippin those defenses apart.

whats up big 5? hope u and the family r doing well. i hope sometimes u just stop thinking about football and do somethings u like to do. i think a person can dwell to much on one thing. u r my man at the q-back spot.i bleed little 5s. go out and have fun. the hell wit the front office they r going to do what they want to do anyway dont worry about it.its like that in every company.the more u do 4 them the more they put u under the bus. maks since huh. do what u do. im wit ya man. take care and god bless to u and your loved 1s im out

You know what would be an even better perseverance story? You come off of that injury healthy, and productive, and bring us that trophy.
Then you get to be recognized as the Hall of Fame caliber Quarterback you truly are.
I hope you are rehabbing nicely. I furthermore hope that whichever way the draft goes, it is either to benefit your protection, or to help you have some targets to send touchdowns to. We know that you are the best man, for the job, and we are happy you are in Philadelphia. We are confident you put your heart and your body into this game, and thats what this city is about, defying expectations and reaching greatness. We just want all the stress off our/Philadelphia's shoulders. Maybe then Billick and Limbaugh, and all these people with bad energy, will have a taste of poo in their mouths, and would learn to stop trashing one of the greatest overall sports cities in the nation.
Have fun in the off season, train hard, and reach for the moon and if you don't grab it, you're still a star in my book.

good 1 puma

We see you are taking care of business , Make sure you continue to pace yourself and deliver that Championship to Philly like we know you can

Donovan, is it true Chunky Soup lowers blood pressure?

no only chuck norris does that, and....maybe cheerios

we should line Chuck up on defense somewhere.

Who would win in a fight, Chuck Norris or Ditka?

Answer: Chuck Norris, barely, using a kick called the "Ditka"

Good luck this year, Donovan. We can all only hope that the eagles bring back the fire from past seasons so that we can keep watching games in January. Man... I really can't wait for football. I just had my first son six months ago and it's the greatest experience i've ever felt, but I still feel empty when Sunday passes with no NFL!!!

donovan,in 09 your playing the chargers out here. so that might be my 1st eagle game,we might make a trip out to frisco to see you play against the niners .So hopefully the foot ball gods shine on us this year and keep you healthy and our team so we can make a run at the big game. we sure have the weapons to pull it off, take care to you and yours, god bless our team.your home boy GEORGE AKA GORDO.

What's up Mac! I just put up your action figure (from McFarlane.com) next to the rest of my Philly shrine. Hopfully I'll be able to add a few more "playmakers" soon. Can't wait for the draft and the season to start. Good luck with everything and I'm looking fwd to going to SF this year to see you! (flew back to Philly last year from CA for the first time so Im glad ur coming back to Cali ..uhh..no LL Cool J pun there ha!)

I saw that piece on HBO about that little kid. AMAZING. As a parent, it puts everything into perspective.Take care Donovan- see ya at camp!!!!

Hey Donovan, whats up?? It's good to hear your enjoying the offseason and getting ready for next year without any injuries to hold you back. I've always been a supporter for you and never got down on you once. You are one of the best quarterbacks in the league and in Eagles history. I hope you have a great season this year and I will be watching the Eagles and you all the way. LETS GO EAGLES!!! ALL THE WAY TO TAMPA IN 08!!

I had the pleasure of meeting Donovan at Philadelphia University. What a charming, charismatic, bright guy. I just came from Boston to join the Philadelphia University team and after meeting Mr. McNabb I am rooting for the Eagles!

He is the difference maker, good to hear.

i would like the eagles to draft kenny phillips with there first pick, trade lito for another 1st rounder and get desean jackson and in the third or fourth try to get marcus monk (i think this guy is gonna be a monster in the nfl, look at his highlights reminds me of plexico but with better running after the catch, im surprised many teams are sleeping on him, he could be this years marques colston). I know lito ya boy but they say hes gone so i believe a trade with the bucs at 20 would be good in return for him. i say the bucs because that is who is believed to get desean jackson. Please do tell andy reid about marcus monk from arkansas he is 6foot6 220 pounds. look him up on youtube

HEY 5 I WAS WONDERING IF YOU HAD OCHO CINCO ON SPEED DIAL HE WOULD LOOK GOOD CATCHIN YOUR DEEP BALL

Whats with Joynerfan? Debbie Downer over here. lol. I do agree somewhat. You've been on this team for ten years and they've given you one receiver for one year. Of course he turned out to be a headcase, haha. Anyway, wanted to wish you the best of luck this year. I'm getting married in September and she already knows we'll be watching the game on our honeymoon, damn straight, lol.
Take care 5
Carl

good to see you're keepin busy. Hope you'e gettin excited about the up coming season, i know I certainly am. I think the Greenpak looks great the defense is the best it has been in a very long time and the O looks great too. I know you and LJ will be hooking up big time this year and Curtis showed a lot of potential. Some fans disrespect Reggie but I like to think he's a better option than thrash or pinkston and you did great leading those guys.....
Either way you have to know by now that our GreenDreams live and die with you. All the true fans do know you are our only chance of winning it all. Thanks for giving us hope Donovan. Silence those critics one last time, with a big smile holding the Lombardi Trophy.
'08 is so green

HEY DONOVAN,MAYBE YOU SHOULD GO TO THE "DELUSIONS OF GANDEUR TWINS" JEFF AND JOE AND SAY IF YOU CAN'T BRING ME A PLAY MAKING WIDE OUT BY THE END OF DRAFT WEEKEND GET ME THE HELL OUT OF HERE SO I CAN WIN A SUPER BOWL BEFORE MY CAREER IS OVER. LAST YEAR WHEN I FELT THIS WAS A TEAM ON THE DECLINE AND THE OFFENSE NEEDED SOME HELP NOW THE TEAM CHOSE KEVIN KOLB WITH THIER FIRST PICK INSTEAD OF A GUY LIKE GREG OLSON WHO COULD HAVE CAME IN AND MADE A CONTRIBUTION ON OFFENSE WHICH WE NEEDED BIG TIME.I FAULT THE MANAGEMENT/COACH FOR THIS TEAM NOT WINNING IT ALL DURING THE REID ERA

What up Donovan. Woooooooooooooo..... you sure did have a busy week. It's nice to always see u attending chartites/events and smiling despite everythang u been through the past several seasons. I only wish i had our personality. Hope u and the family are doing good!!!

Hey 5, glad to see you getting back to what you do best.........relaxing and getting ready for Sept. Finally able to do just that and nothing else in the way of rehab, etc.
Nice to see you taking care of others.........would not expect any less from you.
Counting the days till training camp.
Got to meet Jon Runyon at the auto show up at Lehigh. Nice guy. Took a pic with him. Nice to add to my Eagles collection. Your autographed jersey is STILL the main item.
Eagles in 09.
Sue

GO ORANGE!! haha

Donovan, thanks for all you do. When are you coming to Mississippi?

HEY DONOVAN, SAW YOU ON THE 10! SHOW. I CAN SEE YOU IN THAT WINNING OUTFIT. YOU HAVE A GOOD FASHION EYE.
MAYBE YOU CAN WEAR THAT OUT FIT WHEN WE GO TO THE SUPERBOWL THIS YEAR. YOU WOULD LOOK GOOD GETTING OFF THE PLANE IN THAT

JUST SAW THE NEW SCHEDULE. LOOKS LIKE WE CLEAN UP THIS YEAR. WOULD BE SWEET TO GO 16-0 AND THEN ALL THE REST OF THE WAY TO TAMPA, BUT I WILL BE HAPPY WITH 12-4 AND THEN ON TO TAMPA.
GO BIRDS

donovan, your next article should be about the schedule i think some fans would be interested to see your take on the schedule.

Good to see all is well Donovan, looking forward to the upcoming season my friend. So much for all that pitiful, unsung hype about the Eagles trading McNabb nonsense I was reading on this site over & over & over again. Ha, yeah that McNabb trade sure looked nice didn't it, lol! Philly won't see a SB unless you bring it home brother! Go Birds!

You were right, bigrele.

I was 100% wrong.

I can't wait for the NFL season to begin.

I'm optimistic about the Eagles this season. It's time to make another run at the Super Bowl.

Appreciate that Eagles2007, its all good my friend, the Eagles are going to be rock solid this year for sure. I was watching ESPN yesterday and how they got the Cowboys & Giants picked as the top 2 teams when reviewing their draft report. Its all good, I want it to be that way, nothing wrong with the Eagles flying under the radar for next season but I just know our team is going to surprise for sure. The focus they made on improving their defense is going to pay off you will see. McNabb & LJ are 100% healthy for this season, the added pieces on offense will make a big difference as well just wait my fellow Eagle fans. Also I was wrong as well, I do not believe this team HAS to have a bigtime #1 superstar wideout, they went 8-8 and won the last 3 games of the season with a pourous defense that lead the league with the fewest turnovers generated as well as an offense that struggled for many different reasons. With McNabb & LJ 100% healthy and an offense that is dangerous with Westbrook, we will finish at least 12-4 or 11-5 this season I'm sure. Cowboys will not finish 13-3 next season I gurantee that. Eagles will return to form & Donovan will lead this team & the offense to new hieghts, just wait they will surprise the first 3 weeks of the season!

Yo Donny, I am really looking forward to this season. I am expecting great things and am hoping you are happy with the moves the team made. While we didn't get that "#1" WR everybody talks about; We got better in alot of places. just keep your eyes on the prize and remember to trust yourself and your teamates. Go Eagles!
