Clint Dolezel of the Dallas Desperados became the first quarterback in Arena Football League history to throw for 800 TDs.
Last week at the American Airlines center, Dolezel and the Desperados (7-0) beat the Philadelphia Soul (4-2) by the score of 51-41. But the real story is Dolezel hitting Willis Marshall for a 46 yard bomb that took the Desperados' quarterback and the AFL to new heights.
The previous TD tosser to hold the AFL record was Andy Kelly, who threw 793 while playing with the New Orleans VooDoo. But now Dolezel stands alone in the 800 club, with 802.
With the fast paced nature of the AFL, 800 may one day seem like nothing more than a stepping stone to the seemingly unreal numbers AFL players can put up in the offensive league. But for now a new mark has been set.
