Giving back to the kids

What's goin on, Yardbarkers? Just dropping by for a minute to let you know about a program I've been involved with for a while now call After-School All-Stars. Last year I donated $1,000to them for every sack I made and ended up giving $8500. In an hour or so I'll be at an event here in SD, handing over a check to this great program. Check out the link, it'll take you to a radio interview I did yesterday where I talk about today's event.

I'll be bringing my camera along today, so hopefully I'll have some footage up here soon for ya'll to see. I'm planning on doing a lot more video posts in general, so let me know if you have any good ideas for those.

love seeing athletes give back good post shaun and good look this upcomming season

I have searched for words, but I am almost unable to formulate what it is I am trying to say. It warms my heart that you would choose to give back to our nations most valuable assets, our youth. Because of you, one more child will be motivated to push themselves beyond their physical and mental limitations which in turn will instill in them a greater internal strength preventing them from giving up on their dreams. What you are doing will help one more child move beyond discouragement and develop a sense of hope where doubt seems to preserve. As an employee of the Louisiana Partnership for Youth Suicide Prevention, I implement intervention and prevention programs for suicidal youth! I am saying this because I know what this means to them. You must know that what you are doing will make my job much easier because your giving back will have a huge impact on our youth and one less young person will die by suicide. On behalf of the youth and the caregivers in this world, I say thank you. I pray that God will continue to increase you in every area of your life and as He expands your territory that you will continue to be humble and always willing to be a blessing to others as He continues to bless you. Thank you once again and God bless you in the upcoming season. Geaux Phillips and Geaux Chargers!!

I'm impressed, you sound like a fantastic person.
It's always nice seeing people giving back to the community.

Can't wait for the season to start up again!
Go Chargers!

What up Shaun! Great work your doing in the community! Keep up the good work! Schedule released today...I'm sure you're licking your chops. Take care

That is SO awesome..SACK it up!! Kids look up to football players/atheletes so much. Last year at a pop W jamboree the Umass football team got out of practice and gave all the kids about to play high fives all the way down the line. It was SO cute and the kids absolutely loved it.

Thats cool man i wish i could be able to give back that way but being a broke college student i can't. I am a big fan of yours and i am the biggest Purdue fan too. I have watched you play your whole career at Purdue and i always knew you would be a star in the NFL. I actually still have a sweat band you threw to me when my family traveled out to see Purdue play Wake Forest a couple years ago. Unfortunatly I kind of hate the chargers because you guys always beat MY COLTS! Even though i boo the chargers i still root for you to do good. I can't wait for the Colts game this year against you guys to get revenge for the playoffs. Anyway keep up the good work and i look forward to many sacks from you this season.

Definitely looking forward to some video posts. How about some simple videos showing us a bomb meal you are about to eat! Got a favorite burrito shop in town, or maybe you get down on some sushi?

I love you and I pray that GOD continues to bless you so that you may be of a blessing to others,
