"Kyle Busch Is a Jerk"

That is what Earnhardt fans are saying at least.

To me this is how the whole thing played out at Richmond last night.

Busch is a brash win at all costs 23 year old who got in over his head when he went into the corner under Dale Jr. More take than give.

Dale Jr is a sensible racer who hasn't won a point race in exactly 2 years and was trying very hard to hold onto the lead because he knew that if Busch got in front of him Busch would take the high line away from him a make him try to pass in the low groove where he couldn't run. Mare take than give here too.

It's just one of them there racin' incidents. No more, no less.

I just hope Kyle had some sort of military security team with him when he left the track last night because those Earnhardt fans, the more militant ones anyway, won't see it this way.

You know who I really feel sorry for though? Denny Hamlin. He is the one who really should have won the race.

I agree with you. It was just one of those racing incidents.

I feel sorry for Denny, in that he had that win all bottled up. However, stopping on the race track was bad.

I don't feel sorry for Denny Hamlin one bit. I lost all respect I had for him as a driver and whoever may have made the call for him to draw the caution flag.

That is very unsportsmanlike and he should have been parked as was Waltrip for his reckless behavior.

Jr. vs Kyle? Just a racing incident? Maybe so, but Kyle gets into "racing incidents" WEEK IN AND WEEK OUT!!!!
Where's Jimmy Spencer when you need him?????????? That kid needs a touch of fear in him or he will continue to do this.
Jr's too nice, he better watch it or he'll end up like a nice-guy-never-win-a-championship Martin or Burton.

Klye is a jerk and a loose cannon on the track if the only way he can beat you is to wreck you he will as he has shown in the past and Hamlin is not a whole lot better What has happen to Joe Gibbs Racing He used to have competive drivers who won on their skills now it's crashem to win not good for the sport

Kyle Busch went for the win, entitled or not, it did not matter if Jr. had won last week or had been 20 years without a win. The merchandise sales, the commercials, the movie appearances and the popularity contest that all the 3, 8 and 88 fans have Sr's son are left when the green flag drops.

What would Dad have done? I think the this stings most 88 fans most. It hurts to believe that 18 is more like "The Intimidator" than 88.

Can't wait for Kyle Busch to do the Steve Park Shuffle!!

Here's what's up. Kyle was taking the low line every other lap, but in this particular lap, when all mattered, he decided to go a little higher, to bump Jr, on purpose, out of the way, and then try and act innocent as if "oops, didn't mean to". That's some bullshit Kyle Busch, and I hope you enjoy what you got coming! Had Kyle simply went low again, like Jr expected, and had given him enough room to, like any respectful racer would, Kyle would NOT have gotten into Jr. But instead, Kyle decided to "win by all means necessary", which is total bullshit!

And for Denny Hamlin to stay out when it was clear for 5 laps he had a tire going down, total shady teamwork, to shorten the gap Jr. had built between him and Kyle. Joe Gibbs should not have approved of this, and it infuriates me NASCAR allows this with a simple 2 lap penalty. How about parking him next race to REALLY get the msg accross? No, it's not ok to bring out a yellow on purpose, so your team still has a chance to win. Gibbs knew they had 2 great race cars that could win, but that doesn't mean strategize with dirty racing. If you're gonna beat somebody, do it fair and square, dumbasses. They knew Jr. was driving away and they were running out of time to bring a win for the Gibbs team, so they instructed Hamlin to stay out and bring out a yellow, to shorten the gap, and still give their team a chance to win. That's some fucking bullshit! Pardon my french.

Jr, you need to harden up boy, and not let these new booties run mock on you. Your dad was the intimidator, and now others want to haunt you by intimidating you, without you even reacting? What I mean, you should've walked right over to that little punk and told him you didn't appreciate what he did. Not be all "mr too mellow I'll let others do it for me". You need to man up and handle it. That's what us, the fans expect, and have your support on. Not to mention, your whole crew would've had your back. What, a fine? There's another day to make money. Don't worry bout the little things, but when making your mark in NASCAR history, don't let others punk you around. If you don't get back at Kyle, it's going to be damn disappointing for all us fans... That's all I gots to say...

Kyle, funny how when somebody barely accidentally hits you, doesn't even crash you, AND gives you your position back, you make it sound and look as if they were "dirty racing". Take a look at wtf you did to Jr. That's dirty racing. From you, AND your team. End of story.

Even as a Jr fan, I was really pulling for Denny to win. I remember two years ago that Denny was as sportmanlike as possible, not getting the win he wanted at Richmond that day and it seemed this year should have been his time. I did not like his choice to stay out when the tire went down. He was playing the "god" he thought didn't want him to win last night.

That said, Kyle pretty clearly works all drivers hard, but seems to have a real problem with Jr. If he can't come to terms with whatever that problem is, it will cost him in the future. Anytime you are racing, it needs to be a level playing field in your mind in terms of who you want to beat. In other words, Kyle, your agenda is showing.

I suggest we all get back at Kyle by the only way as fans we can. Buy nothing from his sponsor!!! See how long it takes for Mars and Gibbs. To drop his ass.

marc said...

Bob, that's quite the collection of trolls and haters you have gathered in this thread.

Far from surprising.

Too bad they don't take a cue from the driver who's been most affected, Dale Jr. accepted the incident as a racing deal too bad those that want to rant and rave about some alleged willful dumping of the #88 don't follow that lead.

NOTE to "Anonymous" you want to know when Mars and Gibbs will drop Busch?

About the same time you man-up and post a name vice "Anonymous," which I highly suspect will be far in the future, if ever.

Yeah and I lost all respect for Jr when he spun out intentionally at Bristol.

KB is a VIP...I=ignorant.
Popularity is worse than prisidint bush.
If it was almost anyone else you might not blame them.
Doesn't his nickname say it all?? Hello??
I've looked at the replay a hundred times I swear.
I didn't see him get loose. I DID see him turn right. Right into Jr.
Kyle you are a jack ass and your fans know it.
You will kill someone someday and you'll still wonder why you are getting flipped off.
two words....BLACK FLAG
two more words:.....Drug testing

"Dale Jr. accepted the incident as a racing deal" ~marc

I have a feeling that was said by Jr so he can deal with Kyle on the track. Isn't "racing incident" shorthand for "watch for me in your mirrors idiot"?

Snafam said...

Kyle was disliked before this ever happened. I heard the worst booing of ANY driver when he was introduced on the stage at the Las Vegas race...his home track.

At some point, you have to figure the cheers for Jr compared to the boos for the Shrub have to grate on Kyle emotionally.

However, his attitude will get him nothing but grief. To earn respect, first he must show respect.

Well, Denny and Kylie showed how big of punks they were last night.

I was a #3 fan, he did wreck people and I know that and will admit it. I wanted to be a Jr fan so badly, but I don't feel that he wants to win or will punch a suka like Kylie out after what was done to him last night. He is TOO PC and doesn't have what his dad had.

#20 is my type of driver, he gives it and expects it back.
I used to be a big Nascar fan, but the lack of balls shown by Nascar has made it useless to watch anythng but short track racing. Why watch a 2 mile race track where lead changes are rare.
Kylie will GET HIS, and by his I hope its a CONCRETE wall with no brakes applied.
To the writer of this blog, why don't you just quit this and go to Gibbs racing and ask for what you are good at, PR or in this case excuses for that punk in #18

Cheyenne said...

I am staying out of this one...because some of the stuff I read way up there makes me a tad angry. Kyle Busch needs to get an attitude fix. Denny Hamlin needs to make his own decisions and not ones that will cost him fans by the crap he pulled on the track. OK, I've said too much already, so I'd better quit while I think I'm ahead.

4ever3 said...

Whew, some people have got some real tempers.

I agree Kyle was a little higher than before, but Jr was a little lower than before too.

It was a racing incident. Period. Tow guys not willing to back off, one because he is an immature bonehead and the other because he is winless for the last two years and has something to prove.

As far as Jr being a PR guy, it is true, but that is what his father taught him. He needs to treat the sponsors good. Dale Jr got in so much trouble from his dad once when he didn't put his hat on during an interview, so don't blame him for who he is blame his father.

As far as Denny 'parking it' to get shrub out front is stupid he did it himself so he wouldn't go a lap down and NASCAR called him on it pure and simple. No conspiracy here. Denny isn't the only one to ever have done that BTW and he won't be the last.

To the writer of the last comment (JJ) a PR job at JGR would be nice - I bet it pays more than my current job - but since I've never seen you leave a comment here before I must assume that you've never been here before because if you have visited here you would have found out that I am not a Kyle Busch supporter. I just call it as to how I see it.

I surprised no one went the route as this being an attack by Kyle not towards Dale but towards Hendrick instead. I thought for sure someone would have went that route, I guess I underestimated some of the conspiracy theorists out there.

Finally, I do think that Kyle has handled this whole thing wrong in the press. His whole attitude has not been going over too well with me. I still think it was a racing incident, but man he needs to get some help in talking with the press, his feeble attempts at humour are just fueling this controversy even more. Suck it up and say you went in there too hot and you feel bad for everyone involved in the 88 team and this will go away a whole lot faster dude.

Amy said...

Hendrick backlash? Please. Kyle would go back there in a heartbeat when the tides turn.

If it is so much a racing deal, why be smug? Why goad Jr fans? Why if he was just loose, did Kyle steer all the way to the wall to correct his car? Just some un-answered questions...

4ever3 said...

Because he is too damn self-centred to admit that he is wrong. He has a sense of entitlement about him that a lot of the late teens early 20's have about them. that's why.

Sultan said...

I am a huge Jr fan and was a Sr fan before, all that aside I believe Kyle did it on purpose. He is just that way. I knew that when Hamlin brought the caution out "accidentally" that Jr was not going to win that race. I already knew that Kyle was going to wreck him some how. That is just how those Busch boys are. Kyle will get his due one day, probably not from Jr because he does not do things like that but someone will get him one day. My biggest disappointment was that Jr just let it go like he always does. I understand being a good sport and all and not wanting to stir up controversy but I hope that after all the press was gone and the night was over that Jr caught up to Kyle and let him know to take that "Oops my bad" routine shit and put it in a sack and go sell it somewhere else cause we ain't buying it!

Anonymous said...

I wish one of the major NASCAR reporters would do a story about Denny Hamlin causing the caution. That's cheating no matter how you look at it. Denny said he didn't care about the 2 lap penalty. It didn't make any difference. NASCAR shoudl punish JGR. I lost a lot of respect for JGR and Denny Hamlin...I hope Tony leaves...he shouldn't be reduced to being part of their team!

NASCAR: PENALIZE JGR AND DENNY HAMLIN FOR CHEATING!!!!!!!

Tim Zaegel said...

I think we're being a little dramatic about wanting extra penalties for JGR and the 11 team. A 2 lap penalty was plenty sufficient ... if anyone deserves additional punishment from Richmond it's Michael Waltrip.

RevJim said...

Dale Jr says it was just retaliation for what he did to Kyle last year at KC. That's what he said on NASCAR Now, anyway.

4ever3 said...

Jim,
It may not have been retaliation, but I wouldn't be surprised if Busch went in there a little too hot thinking, "If I hit him, so what? Look at what he did to me at KC last year?"

I honestly think he did not deliberatly hit Earnhardt, but he certainly didn't care if he was going to.

Amy said...

Well, if he "didn't care if he was going to" is that winning or rage? I think Kyle has something on his mind this season, I am not in-the-know enough to guess what that is, but he certainly seems more, well.. driven. If and when he crosses the wrong person or runs out of steam with his something to prove attitude, we will finally see what Kyle can do from a purely talent standpoint. Frankly as a Jr fan, I can't wait for that. I would have loved, LOVED to have seen the race in Richmond go down to the line with both racing their hearts out. For Kyle depriving all of us of that kind of finish I am disappointed in him. He did just run out of talent there in the third turn.

4ever3 said...

Amy, it is winning because if it were rage he would have intentionaly tried to wreck Jr. It is winning at all costs though, regardless of the outcome - as long as it is a win.

I agree with everything else you have to say. He is really driving with purpose this year. Is it because he has better equipment, has he got something to prove, or is something else? Don't know, but someone is going to knock that huge chip off of that 'self-entitled' shoulder of his and when they do it isn't going to be pretty. Can't wait to write about it!

Amy said...

Well 4ever, I wonder this one last thing and I would love your opinion. Whether or not Jr was intentionally taken out really doesn't matter (though one program went so far as to compute "if Jr loses by the 47 points he went down to Busch tonight.......") but I couldn't help but wonder when Jr said Kyle had a chance to take me out in turns 1 and 2 if Kyle recognized that opportunity a turn later. I don't so much believe it was intentional as Jr draws a lot of emotion from Kyle and it clouds his objectivity. He seems to always have a comment for Jr, about Jr.. Frankly the best thing Dale could do is laugh about it. It would drive Kyle absolutely crazy. Can't help but chuckle here myself.

4ever3 said...

Well Amy, you could be right. I have gone on record as saying the best young driver (talent wise)out there today is Kyle and certainly if someone is that good they could possibly go into a corner a little too hot to make the car slide up the track and hit another car without it looking like he meant to do it - I've done similar things while go-cart racing.
When you are the car underneath you can afford to be a little more aggressive as you also have the car above you to help you get through the corner better when you lean on them - eight tires hold better than four.
Only Kyle Busch knows what Kyle Busch really did and everyone else, including Dale Jr is left speculating.
Although, you are right, there does seem to be a bit of jealousy on Kyle's part towards Dale, but can you blame him? Dale essentially took his job at Hendricks, Dale is more respected by everyone in NASCAR, Dale has better sponsorship opportunities, etc. Heck, I'm jealous of Dale too - except for the paint scheme of his car, but that is another story.

These Junior Kool-Aid drinkers make me sick! Neither driver gave room at Richmond and a racing incident happened.
The only real problem is Shrub's mouth. I have no real problem with what he does on the track.
I love how everyone conveniently forgets that Earnhardt wrecked out Busch in Kansas last year? I like Junior and all, but his fans are just looney!
