What about Marcus Allen? He's completely overlooked. You should make the list, "The Most Exciting Offensive Lineman."

good idea fly master, put one up and I'll look at it. Where would you put Marcus Allen, and where would you put the player you'd replace him with?

fly I meant put up a list of "The Most Exciting Offensive Lineman." I'll come take a look at it.

Thanks for your post.

Im takin a long shot here......If Eli wins another one will you consider him and where will he be placed on this lovely list.... O what about Jim McMan and The Refrigerator? The Exciting Superbowl Shuffle.

Dean lived in Highland Park, IL and was at all the Bears game that year. He loved it there. It was a mad house in that area all year. Those I would call exciting moments but not all-time exciting players, although the frig was a character. LOL...

Again, I'd say those were exciting moments more than for this topic, wouldn't you?

If Eli wins another SB, would I put him on this list? Hmm, I'd have to say no. Peyton, is a great study of the game, more so than Eli, I think. Also, if I had 2 minutes left in the game, I would take Peyton over Eli, Peytons' play calling on the field is masterful, just amazing to watch him with such calmness just walk the team down the field and for the most part, with anything you throw at him he sees it and changes the call at the line and makes the "D" look foolish. He's a wizard. Hell look at the pic. you'll see what I mean, LOL, ROFL....

LMAO!

You like, Pinkpanthrr? LOL

Love the saying on your home page, too...LOL.. I'll bet you get flack for that, huh?

I get flack for being a Patriots fan period. Doesn't matter really what I say. ha ha.

Na your good by us at TheDean1. Our sand box is big enough, come on over.

LOL the pic is funny, Ok no Eli,,,, Not yet!!!

solid.........Moss might be a little bit higher up IMO due to the fact that when he first came into the league almost every catch he made was a circus-like acrobatic "straight cash homey" style of reception

ok annt, not disagreeing with you but where then would you put Moss, and where would you put the player you'd replace him with?

u got me, i wanna say Bo Jackson because his time in the NFL was so short, but there is no way one can justify Moss as being more exciting than quite possibly the most exciting ATHLETE to ever play sports

annt, agree with you again my friend, Bo was that.

i dont get excited when i hear the name peyton manning...and how many plays do you have to play to be on offense, because i know that devon hester was a situational offensive player..and when on offense he wasnt to exciting, with his dropped passes and such.

your right there dreads, but boy on returns it was pretty exciting wasn't it? for both teams so to speak, lol.

haha yessir it was, i guess its just kind of a loop hole

that it is, that it is.

what about T.O i understand he drops to many passes but i saw him destroy Pacman in practice the other day

I heard that story too, but I didn't see it. Is it on UTube?

Nice list. Love that my guy Big Randy is on there. If it were my list it would go different because I really didn't see much of a lot of those players due to my age. Nice job with Peyton too. People say the name doesn't excite you, but if you watched every game of the Colts, and you knew every play was a threat for a TD, he would be very exciting to you.

if he is on it because of that, tom brady should be on it over him because when he was given real nfl recievers like manning had for years, he out shined manning easily

Not sure if you could say that. Moss has been making highlight reel catches forever. And Manning has thrown to other players who aren't "stars" too. And Manning sat out games at the end of the season where he broke Marino's record. Also, they weren't running the score up on teams. He has thrown over 10 TDs in a season to Dallas Clark and Brandon Stokley. Not exactly household names. If Brady can keep it up, he deserves to be on the list too.

WJ, see my 6.1.2 post, I think thats what Dreads is saying, I'm not speaking for him but i think that's the point he saying? what do you say Dreads?

dreads, if brady can keep up at the pace of last year and by that i mean spreading the ball around to all the different guys like he did to set up the big one to Moss for a score, then you bet he'd be on this list too. Manning has been doing that for his entire career and mostly because he was forced to no by choice. Mannining has had Harrison for years so they go together like hand and glove. Brady has had Moss for only a season. I'd hate to think how much better Brady's career and stats would be if he had Moss from the beginning as has Manning having Marvin. whew...

yes, u got me right.

have you seen my top 100 running backs list yet?

wj, if you read about jim brown and watch videos when you find them of him you'll see. I think it would be safe to say that for the most part that Jim Brown was like a man playing with boys in his era. mind you i did say for the most part.

Bo Jackson, wow, if he could have had a few career in the NFL, its scary to think what that guy could have done, whew... What do the rest of you barkers say? Remember when everything was, Bo knows, Bo knows this and Bo knows that...Remember those days guys?

Lets help MJ here all you BARKERS with a few stories about these 2 guys, Jim Brown and Bo Jackson..

tom brady is obviously more exciting with randy and wes the manning is with harrison and wayne. theres no argueing

Dreads, but if you were the QB of a team, would really be upset if you had either one of those 2 sets of WR's? hell for that matter, would you take wayne and wes as 2 of your WR's?

True, and I'm not on a side here. I love both QBs and all the WRs that are in the discussion, but Peyton had done it his whole career. Brady has only done it the one year. If he can do it for the rest of his career, then he can pass Manning.

yup yup, if the patriots can keep brady moss and wes all under contract and keep them happy with enough balls and keep a solid line to keep brady off his back, i think you'll see that happen, what do you guys think? I know that's a lot of if's, but indy has done just that, so it could happen, don't you think?

Cunningham had some exciting time for Minnesota and Philly, but looks to have pretty strong competition.

that he did SSG, remember that run and leap in the end zone when he was with philly, he looked like a deer leaping, I thought for sure he was going to be hurt after that.

Fran Tarkenton revolutionized what it meant to be a mobile quarterback. How he isn't even mentioned is somewhat of an insult. The same could be said for Randall Cunningham.

Agree BZR, Fran did do that, but honestly, where would you put those two on this list? and then where would you put the two your replacing them with? And then ask yourself this question? Which list would be more exciting to watch every week, week in and week out? and then which one would make for a better highlights piece week after week? Those were the very same 2 questions I asked myself when I did this list, about....20 frickin times, lol, before I ended up with this one.

Trust me when I tell ya, I don't just throw these things together, whew, but boy I wish I could, LOL... But I just want to be able able to put a quality list out that we can all talk about and thats what makes these things fun and challenging at the same time. I know you know what I mean. You have some real good pieces to and I know that they weren't all easy, am I right?

As always, I love bloging and posting with all you guys, and getting all the different thoughts, stories, passion and comments is what makes this as well as game(s) and players we all have a passion for. All those memories and traditions we had as kids and carry over to our kids and our adulthood to keep all of this ALIVE.
for all that I thank you guys for being a piece of all that for Dean and I. Thank you BARKERS.

I would rather have watched Chris Carter than Devin Hester.

cris was a good too. Its just that with Cris you never knew if he's get the ball thrown to him or not, then when it was you got excited. With Devin, you know he's getting the ball or kicking it away from him, which you know its because of him they did that. That's why I put Devin where I did.

Now that comes as a football fan. Now if your a Vikings fan, LOL, I understand why you'd pick Cris, LOL... Not to many Vikings fans are thrilled with the thought of Devin Hester.

and you can also add 31 NFL special teams coaches and head coaches to that not to thrilled list too.

touché

I hope I answered your question, thumbsup.

exciting was Kordell Stewart in the Slash days. When he got on the field it meant you better stayed glued to the TV.

you bet, another good one, he did give defenses headaches. Good Choice.

my list is about the MOST EXCITING NFL offensive players, [sorry youngsters], they would be. #1.Jim Brown, #2.Marshall Faulk, #3.Hugh McElhenny, #4.Barry Sanders, #5.Gale Sayers, #6.Jerry Rice, #7.Lance Alworth, #8.Frank Gifford, #9.Freeman McNeil, #10.Marcus Allen, #11.Bobby Mitchell, #12.Lenny Moore, #13.Jon Arnett, #14.Clemon Daniels, #15.Ollie Matson, #16.O.J.Simpson, #17.Roger Craig, #18.Elroy Hirsch, #19.Wilbert Montgomery, #20.Devin Hester.

I like your list. Question I have is why is Gifford so hi on your list, please don't say "THE HIT", LOL..

I think we could go on all day with list like these don't you think?

Did you ever watch Brown at SU or just Pro ball?

Dean1.: Fran Tarkenton wasn't a north/south scrambling QB. in any sense of the word, like Bobby Douglas, Steve Young, and Randell Cunningham where. Fran Tarkington was short and couldn't see over the line of scrimmage, so he'd role out, get chased, then would reverse his field before throwing. All his scrambling was east and west, for him to gain time, he hardly ever turned up-field..
