Rip Hamilton: "Against All Odds"

Just a minute ago, prior to the start of tonight's Pistons/Celtics game, Michele Tafoya asked Rip Hamilton about the team's mentality. Hamilton responded by saying that the Pistons feel as though "we're against all odds," which for me is enough of an excuse to post what is perhaps the greatest song in the history of music. Ladies and gentlemen of the Yard, I present to you, Phil Collins: "Against All Odds," from 1985's Live Aid concert.

She took half of Phil's stuff in the divorce. He probably holed himself up in a room drinking a bottle of Bourbon.

Good luck Rip.

In two years, Cleveland's GM will be borrowing some of Phil's lyrics when he serenades LeBron: "You coming back to me is against the odds, and that's what I've got to face!"

I thought i was coming over to read a feel good story about Rip's difficult childhood & rise to success and I get.....PHIL COLLINS?! LMFAO!
u funny, Dewey!

I did too. My heart was all warmed up and everything. Btw, I saw Phil live in Chapel Hill at the Dean Dome while I was in college. And THIS was the song I was waiting for (along with "In the Air Tonight" - drums were awesome live)! Phil is the bomb (to take it back for ya).

Love your vibe, Check!

That's the spirit. I'm waiting for TC to chime in. It would be sick if Weezy rhymed over a Phil beat. I mean, Bone Thugs did it already. Great Phil cameos in this video. Phil is way too solid.

LOL!!!! i was at this show @ JFK, it was amazing!!! is this Phil pre concord? LMAO!!!!!! good blog big thumbs up!!!

I'd love to see Phil live. He's at the top of my list, probably. I had a chance to go last year in San Jose, but I can't remember what sort of conflict I had. Some sort of sporting event, probably. Oh, I remember what it was. My first day working in the Yard was the next morning. LOL. I've probably watched this video and/or listened to this song 10 times since last night. Phil is the Kobe Bryant of music... M-V-P!

LMAO! Oh Dewey...

My first day working in the Yard was the next morning. LOL.

bads

aaaaa that should say BANDS lmao!!!

Really? You guys love Phil Collins? He's a bloody Cockney; you can't understand a word he says! Okay, so he's not really Cockney; he's from Chiswick (West London), but still, he is quite incomprehensible. ;-)

Kat, if you ask me, the Nonpoint cover of "In The Air Tonight" from the Miami Vice and Coach Carter soundtracks is the best version. Then again, you didn't ask me. :-D

Not only is Phil Collins awesome in his own right, but "In the Air Tonight" is Ray Lewis' favorite song. Bonus.

Gittle, I'm going to beg to differ just a tad because hearing "In the Air Tonight" live is like a religious experience. That song touched me, man! It freaking touched me.

As I said, you didn't ask me. :-D I hear you, but I'm still more of a rocker, and the Nonpoint cover has a heavier edge. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it! ;-)

Not trying to sway you, but if you could have seen me with my little lighter...

KatKat, we're on the same page today, for sure.

HURRAY! FINALLY Do you think tis appropriate to hold hands and sing "Kumbaya"?

How about something by Phil instead ? Maybe this classic? LOL.

LMAO! Excellent choice, Dewey! I have a laugh tummy ache. The best kind.

You can never go wrong with Phil. LOL!

Who's talking about Phill? Phill is from the streets, he's a G and he will bust a cap in your aaaaa maybe not . Ok never mind , next topic.
