To My California Friends,

Many of you know I work at the Alameda County Sheriff's Archive. One of the deputies sent me the following warning out of Tracy's Duel. I hesitate to alarm people needlessly, but even my Mother Lode friends who travel in the Bay Area need to be aware of this. I've passed it to at least one member of every club and organization I belong to. Make sure you do the same. Better duplicates than someone we know becomes a victim. My friend is Gary Lindsay a newly retired Sheriff's Deputy from Brentwood.

Hello everyone,

I just got a call from a friend who is a prison guard at DVI in Tracy, Ca. He wanted me to warn everyone about a new gang initiation.

He learned about this from the inmates in jail. THIS IS FOR REAL!!!!!!

Initiation started on April 24th and this is what they do:

At a stop light/sign they will 'bump' your car. You will then get out to see what is going on then... they will shoot you. This is

happening across the state. Everyone is a target, but mainly females.

PLEASE, PLEASE forward this e-mail a.s.a.p to all of your friends and family. I just checked with the Commander of Law Enforcement

Services and he tells me that it is true. We are informing our staff. Please pass this along to everyone you know.

	yea i know. there was also that 'urban legend' of ppl driving @ night time with no lights on, and if u blinked ur headlights @ them to turn on theirs, they would turn around and start tailgating u and trying to push ur car off the road. crazy sh*t goin down these days.

	Google international blvd. I used to go to church out there until it became too dangerous. There have been a rash of carjackings & what not. Oakland has some very tough areas. But there is also a really strong movement to clean up downtown. There are a lot of old vacant store fronts that are being turned into really cool stores and restaurants. It has a long way to go but it will be nice in a few years.

	lol im hella hood. bein from russia and a jew im AUTOMATICALLY hood! but, i live in san whoresay, so its coo, but i work in downtown, so yea, BUT i used to have to travel out to oaktown cuz thats where my dr was. my jr yr in HS, it was like every 2 weeks n sh*t cuz they didnt know what was up, so i grew to love oakland, i dunt know why, i think it was the drive over there, the closer i got to Oakland, the more of the bay i got to see. u dont see the city from san jose, but drivin down 880 and then all of a sudden seein the city n golden gate bridge just gave me this feeling of pride. so what if oakland isnt the hollywood of cities, its got history, and it gives me this feeling when i see it and the city while driving. i cant even describe, maybe its the music that im listening to when im drivin over but man, do i love the bay. honestly, its like seeing someone u love that u havent seen in a while. the ppl of the bay got a relationship out here with the city. whether they live in the hood or in some nice cool or richy rich place. nothin but love in the bayyyy

	i suppose cuz i agree lil 1, that drive on the 880 is so cool, with your tunes blasting u fell like your in a one of the coolest movies and you look over to the right or left and see the bridge ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh i need to tsake that drive soon....

	lets go together lol. i remember like a month or 2 ago, i got in a reallllyyyyy bad fight with my mother, and one day, i didnt feel like coming home, so what did i do? i took a trip around the bay. took me 3 HOURS. but i loved every minute of it. from the 880 traffic to the bay bridge traffic to the Van Ness Street traffic to the 101 traffic to the sitting in a parking lot watching the sunset. it was all great. and what works with me the best is listening to Clocks by Coldplay or Bittersweet Symphony by the Verve. Man do i get into a deep thought, and i also think its the way the sky looks out here, the view that u get of the whole bay with the color of the sky that day. whether is alllll blue with some white clouds or pink purple and a hint of red from the sun setting. it juss makes me smile when i drive.

	hahhaha i got a mellow chill side to me too. i rep the bay, but i honestly am not the biggest fan of tupac. i mean music wise. but i LOVVVVEEEEE bittersweet symphony. loved the song since i was like 11. lol. i rmeember one day my best friend and opened up my lil sun roof, and lay in my car listening to that song over and over again for about 45 min to an hour. not saying a word. just chillin and cloud watching. it was prolly one of my favorite days. =]

	Hey, now, hold on a second. I'm Jewish, and I'm of Russian extraction, but I don't think that you could consider me "hood." Far from it; in fact, I'm probably the last person who one would consider "hood"! ;-) I guess it might have something to do with the fact that I grew up in the leafy suburbs of Boston, in a place that calls itself "The Garden City." 	That is nuts... in philly areas... you will go downa one way street,,, there will be a car behind you .... then all of a sudden a car will pull infront of you blocking you off... Here is another one to look out for... You ever park your car and see a flyer on it... well what they are doing is putting it on your back window.. this way you, sit in the car.. notice the flyer then you get out to take the flyer off they push you out of the way and steal your car... and ladies what is the first thing you do when you sit in your car put your purse nxt to you... Now they have your purse, key etc...

	That has happened to me before, I used to live in a bad neighborhood, and I am white, so they instantly spotted me in my little red festiva. They blocked me off and then dumped 2 huge buckets of water on me, before I even realized what was going on. LOL. At least I didn't get shot.

	I guess I'm too white.I have no idea what the hell anyone's talking about here.Are we comparing urban blight?Well,anyone who's trying to make it through life in a neighborhood that's full of danger certainly has my respect.Reds, you have my sympathy concerning your in-laws.I do a lot of work downtown and have seen parts of Philly that make Beirut look like Disneyworld.
