In USC's disastrous 92-89 loss to the Colorado Buffaloes, one positive came out: an incredible Bronny James highlight:

Midway through the second half, James took off on an alley-oop attempt by Isaiah Collier, who was running the break. Collier slightly misfired, and combining that with the defense being next to the basket, James had to improvise, rising high above the defense to finish a layup – which turned out to be an and-one.

James has struggled overall as of late, finishing with just 2 points in 14 minutes today. Since making his debut after returning from his cardiac arrest episode, a combination of inconsistent minutes, bad team play, and having a hard time finding his jumper has made for a surprisingly weak freshman season.

He remains one of the few players with all the tools to succeed at the next level – his size, strength, athleticism, and instincts are all terrific. He's found ways to create shots semi-consistently, he's just having trouble getting them to fall.

While none of that is an excuse for his production being bad on the aggregate, there's reason for optimism heading into the back-end of the season.
