NBA considers new age limit

One-and-dones may be a thing of the past. It's rumored that the NCAA and NBA are considering a new age limit. "The NBA adopted a 19-year-old age limit through the collective bargaining agreement which expires in 2010-11. If the new rule goes into effect, it would eliminate the one-and-done players such as Greg Oden and Kevin Durant and force them to spend at least two years in college."

Either way is fine. Basketball is the one game where an 18 year old can step in an compete.

I admit that I thought the mandatory age limit was stupid when it was first implemented, but after seeing what it's done to the quality of college basketball, I'm all for it. Not to mention it, it helps develop a following for players who otherwise may have gotten drafted and played sparingly in the NBA.

Not to mention the schools that have scholarships tied up because a player wanted to get paid over their education as well.

Keeping them for at least 2 years is a good idea, they need the experience and most of them are not mature enough to enter into the NBA lifestyle. I would love to see some of these guys in the college ranks for at least 2 years.

It'd make College basketball even better though, adn that'd be awesome.

2 years mandatory, all for it. Not every player thats 18 can make an impact in the pros. They need to mature as an athlete and a person. If anything, it's gonna improve the product (NCAA and the pros.).
