The "outrage" in this case is so fraudulent. Everyone seems to conveniently forget that the context of Imus' quote was right after one of his producers quoted Spike Lee's comedy, "School Daze." That doesn't get him off the hook, but it adds at least an attempted comedic context. If we are going to start going crazy every time someone's offensive joke fails, Chappelle, Dane Cook, Chris Rock, Jim Norton and millions of other comedians are going to be out of a job.

Even Jim Rome likens WNBA players to race horses to be funny. This just needs to stop.
