Tar Heels drop first of season, lose 82-80 to Maryland
Maryland always gives the Heels a tough game, but this one was a dogfight. Hansbrough had 17 points and 14 boards, but it wasn't enough as the Heels failed to capitalize on some of their opportunities after shooting just 38% from the field. James Gist scored 22 for the Terps, who nearly squandered an 11 point lead.
