Can Kedrian Johnson Still Play in TBT for Best Virginia?
USA TODAY Sports

Former West Virginia guard Kedrian Johnson recently signed a pro contract to play for the Bristol Flyer of the British Basketball League.

Oftentimes, signing a pro deal results in that player not being able to play in The Basketball Tournament. Fortunately for Johnson and Best Virginia, the BBL has no restriction for those who want to participate in the tournament. Johnson informed me Wednesday evening that he will still be able to play in the tournament.

Johnson spent the last three years at West Virginia after spending two years at Temple Junior College in Texas. His production increased each season in the Old Gold and Blue and became a driving force to leading the Mountaineers back to the NCAA Tournament this past season. In 33 games, Johnson averaged 11.7 points, 3.1 assists, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per contest while shooting 41% from the field.

Johnson and Best Virginia will play College Park Boys (Maryland alumni) taking part in the Alumni Basketball League during an exhibition this weekend. The game will be held July 15th at Joe Retton Arena at Fairmont State University at 7 p.m. EST. Tickets are now available for purchase, starting at $25.

Best Virginia's first game of TBT action will be against Dubois Dream on July 25th at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling.
