The Sun Devils shot 55.6 percent (15 of 27) from the field in the second half, while the Mustangs made just 25 percent (6 of 24).

Arizona State shot 43.5 percent overall from the field, including 10 of 24 (41.7 percent) from 3-point range. Horne matched his season best of four treys.

The Mustangs made 32.7 percent of their shots and were 9 of 24 (37.5 percent) from behind the arc.

Warren Washington's ferocious dunk gave the Sun Devils a 50-44 advantage with 8:24 left to start a cinching 16-4 run.

Horne buried a 3-pointer with 6:43 remaining, and Alonzo Gaffney added a tip-in to make it 57-46 with 5:49 left.

The Mustangs trailed by nine before Washington slammed home two more dunks and Desmond Cambridge Jr. drained a 3-pointer to make it 64-48 with 3:55 remaining. Arizona State cruised from there.

SMU played well early and held a 20-10 lead after a 3-pointer by Jalen Smith with 11:32 left in the first half.

Todorovic drilled a 3-pointer to make it 33-22 with 3:37 remaining.

However, SMU wouldn't score a point for 8:19 while Arizona State rattled off 15 straight to start its long span of dominance.

Duke Brennan scored on two putbacks in a 39-second span and Collins scored on a fastbreak dunk as the Sun Devils trailed 33-28 at halftime.

Collins added a basket to start the second half and Horne scored the next seven points as the Sun Devils took a 37-33 lead with 15:53 to play.

Todorovic split two free throws with 15:18 remaining to end the Mustangs' drought, and Phelps had a steal and dunk 21 seconds later.
