#1 selects Ohio State

Terrelle Pryor twice this year led his team to Pennsylvania state championships: football and basketball. Today the nation's top QB chose Ohio State over Michigan (and also Oregon and Penn State, though the latter two were never really in the running, reportedly).

In addition to being the nation's top gunslinger, Pryor is a top-100 basketball recruit. He will definitely play football but is undecided on whether or not to play basketball. Coach Thad Matta could definitely use Pryor's help. The Buckeyes missed the NCAA Tournament after playing in last year's title game.

"As a senior, the dual-threat Pryor rushed for 1,899 yards and 33 touchdowns and passed for 1,889 yards and 23 touchdowns in leading Jeannette to a 16-0 record and the Class AA football crown."

Here's to praying that we didn't just recruit the next Maurice Clarett. The kid does have a hot head and a bit of an attitude problem.

Regardless, I'm excited to have him and I think the man in the vest will keep him under control. Tressel learned a hard lesson with Maurice.

Clarett got you the national championship game...why wouldnt you want that again?!?!

A little thing called class.

haha ohio state and class...those go hand in hand

scandalous

We are looking at the next Mo.../ Mike Vick... Book it.. I feel bad for this kid. all the athletic ablity in the world, but his hot head is goin to get in his way!

According to a published source:

"Flanked by his parents, brother, sister and other supporters, the 6-foot-6 Pryor wasted no time with his decision: "If everyone's here," he said, "University of Ohio State." "

The fact that he doesn't even know the name of the school shows he'll fit right in.

Just the fact that he waited longer than everybody else to decide, makes me think that with his attitude he did it for the spotlight...

exactly

In his defense, he's just a kid and college is a major decision. There were legions of fans and coaches anxiously awaiting his decision, but that doesn't mean he should be forced to rush it. He's getting criticized for having an ego and waiting too long to decide, but there's no shame in not announcing your decision on the first day possible. The press conference was probably unnecessary considering he didn't have anything to announce at that time, but for all we know that presser could have been scheduled at a time when he thought his mind was made up.

All that having been said, there may have been other instances of inflated ego that I'm not aware of -- I've only been loosely following his recruitment -- but it seems to me that he's no different from any other ridiculously talented athlete in the spotlight.

I'd love to hear more from OSU and Michigan fans who have been following this more closely. What makes Pryor a suspect character?

PS: LOL, 'hiphop' -- "The fact that he doesn't even know the name of the school shows he'll fit right in."

I don't think making your decision by National Signing Day is being forced to rush it.

Thank you.

Amen Harve!

What lesson did Tressel learn with Clarett Shady? This was greed on Clarett's part by trying to enter the NFL after his freshman year. He left OSU because he saw dollar signs in the future. Some people are thugs. Do you think every football player (pro, college, hs) conducts themselves appropriately all the time in every aspect of their personal life? Not quite.

Wow did I strike a nerve or what?

First of all, don't even take this as a dis on Jim Tressel... when my great grandchildren a born 75 years from now, Jimmy's name will still be worshiped, maybe even more than Woody's depending on how the rest of his career goes.

Second, lets not sit here and pretend that Maurice Clarett's problems started only AFTER the OSU season. He was in and out of trouble, skipping classes, taking booster money and just being an overall pain in the ass from day one. Is that Tressel's problem AFTER he left?? Nope... but while he's a student at THE Ohio State University... your freakin eh right it's his problem. Tressel was very hands off with the situation because he was still new and he had an asshole of an athletic director- Andy Geiger- that I'm sure was telling him to let it slide or risk losing his job.

THAT is what Tressel learned- not to let an all star athlete get away with murder while you're running a supposedly "Class act" team. Our Buckeyes are classy all the way and Tressel has done a phenomenal job of creating that. My hope is that our best recruit since Mo Clarett isn't treated the same way, and gets a little more guidance than Mo did.

Clarrett didnt just leave, he was asked to leave!

Well Pryor sure did show his inappropriatness in his basketball games. Got in a fight after one with his teammates started swinging, he decided he needed to do something. Luckily the assistant on the other team held him back so he didnt get in to much trouble. Not to mention other disputes at basketball games.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that scuffle. Good call.

I would have had my own action figure back in the day too if I was allowed to use an old Green Bay Packers Hutch football or whatever he's tossing around in that picture up there. That thing definitely makes the dodgeball 'pung' sound when it hits something.

I'm kind of upset about the way Pryor manipulated his media coverage to get his own news story when he finally made his decision. If he made his decision on National Signing Day - like EVERYONE ELSE - then he would've been one of many. Like 3 years of being recruited by every desirable football program wasn't enough to make a decision. And schools are waiting on his commit so they can move money, see what their offenses are going to look like next season, get ready for spring camp. Absolutely ridiculous.

There is no way I pick a school that isn't known for quarterbacks. If I'm trying to get to the next level I go to Michigan. Just think of the qb's that played recently at OSU. Craig Krenzell, Joe Germaine, Troy Smith. GARBAGE!

Craig Krenzel - National Championship Ring
Joe Germaine - Won the first Rose Bowl for the Buckeyes in ages
Troy Smith - Heisman f-ing trophy winner.

You're right... I've never seen such a bunch of losers in my life. I'd rather have the winners like Chad Henne and Brian Greise... they are far and away much better talents.

No OSU is not a QB school, but if you think you're the guy that can get them over the National Championship hump, why would you choose to go to the school that they beat on a regular basis?

You're logic is ummm... retarded. Hows that Michigan degree workin out for ya?

Greise has more years in the NFL than all three of those bums combined. The championship would be perfect, but I would rather play on the next level get a contract and some $$$. What's the QB name in New England??

yeah- what were his numbers in college? thats what i thought!

You're right Benny! He probably won't be considered one of the greatest when it's all said and done... How many Super Bowls has he won? How many have Krenzel, Germaine and Smith won?

College is college, the NFL is where the stars play...

Certainly not taking a shot at the OSU QBs but Griese won a national title too and has played in the NFL for some time. Chad Henne seems to have better pro prospects than any of the OSU guys. Aside from Troy Smith, who was outstanding, Michigan has had better QBs than OSU, without question.

Be careful what you say. Folks might stop tipping you when you deliver their pizzas.

Thank goodness this drama is over with.

He'll get busted for smoking crack and everyone will then get off this guys jock. "The Univeristy of Ohio State". Is he playing for the Cougars or the Buckeyes or both.

I smell some haters as soon as this guy has a 400 yard game you guys are going to be on his nuts stop hatin dang

He is going to be great he is responsible for 56 touchdowns as soon as the season starts you haters are going to be calling for the heisman for this guy

This kids the real deal though, I got to watch him a bunch of times in high school. Not sure how much abuse he'll be able to take, but fuck it...he'll outrun em like Pat White

Terrelle Pryor is going to go pro eventually with his abilities. I see him as a cross between McNabb and Vick , and if he can be a bit more accurate he has the potential for greatness.

hes gonna be a good college QB just cause he took longer to decide dont mean nothing, i agree with Bwest because i bet in the past there have been guys that took longer to decide, he has the right to becuase he was the number 1 recruit in the nation and has more choices then ur average recruit plus he plays basketball too....bottom line he chose OSU hes gona play his ass off and try to win them a nat'l championship and thats all he cares about

A hater would make someone hate the fact that this guy probably has an IQ lower than Corky from "Life Goes On". I don't think anyone can't hate on that.

He's from Pittsburgh, what do you expect?

Shady I think he was referring to the outstanding pro careers those three have.. I think you made his point stronger.

He won two state championships B-ball and football he is a super athelete

So was Ronald Curry.

He can't even say the name of his school right- reference "hiphop" posting

Vince Young won a title he is a good pro

He"s iQ sucks but he is going to college well your probably a bumb

"bumb" is spelled bum-check yourself

you would know, now wouldnt you?

nice!

Man you got give him a chance chad johnson going into college was in and out of jail now look at him one of the best at what he does

Why are you even commenting you just started last week and you are trying to fight

for andy's sake you didnt ask a question... check yourself.. stupid.

I'm a bum that owns a computer, but I still live on the streets. Think about it. Common sense should answer all of your questions

LOL....feeding off of other places wireless internet, huh? Hell, saves money for beer and smokes.

no andy feed calm down

who said you live in the street you are probably 40 and live with mama

I'll hate on the fact that he will go to Ohio State, who doesn't have a good record at producing NFL qurterbacks, and he'll leave after two years without a college degree. Get drafted, never play and eventually get cut. Leaving him with no degree, no career...who will be living with Mama then
