Heisman Hopefuls

As many of you are aware, the college football season is right around the corner. We here at The Beardown take it very seriously. You may have seen our preseason Top 25 or Preseason All-Americans or even round one of our 2008-2009 Heisman Hopefuls. Well here's round two complete with some you might expect and some that might surprise. Let us know what you think.

I think Tebow has to be the frontrunner at this time. I like Wells at OSU, too. Bradford is still a little young and he won't have Malcolm Kelly this year, but still could make some noise. Chase Daniel still has to prove he can win the big game. He couldn't do that last year against OU.

your forgeting Knowshaun Moereno from UGA

No he is on there under Beanie Wells.... I think he has a legit shot of being in the running

THE TWO KIDS FROM UGA IS INTHE MIST TOO

Stafford has a shot. He's a good TX high school product, so I would root for him. I like Bradford, but I don't think he's ready yet. Maybe he can fool us.

Pat White!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the frontrunner. Are you on crack putting Stafford even on that list. Pat White!!!!!

Agree with Devine

Heres my vote...though he'll probably get screwed like Larry did a few years back!

He's on the list too

Well thank you...they did teach me to read at Pitt though.

My fault half the people who have commented on the Yard or the blog knock us for leaving people/teams out who we didn't leave out like Clemson on our Top 25 and the guy above who said we were forgetting Moreno

haha nah, just throwin my vote out there!

I haven't seen this kid play at all. Will have to watch a Pitt game next season.

You're in for a treat FIVER, he has an extra gear that is rare once he hits the hole. Can't count how many times last year I thought he was wrapped up for a loss and then broke it. Hopefully they can get some decent QB play to open him up a little more since he WAS our offense last season.

I hear you. At least when Dorsett was there, they had a good supporting cast. I'll have to keep an eye on this guy and see how he does. Thanks.

They've got the receivers this year with Turner returning and Kinder back from his torn ACL. Jonathan Baldwin could be simply amazing too

Are they going to be a Top 25 team this year?

They are right now in the preseason polls! Can't imagine they won't end up that way seeing how most of the games they lost last year were close ones. The stingy D is returning almost all of the starters...just rests on the QB play. Will it be Smith, Bostick, Cross, Stull or all 4? haha nobody knows.

I just checked their schedule. They have some fairly tough games with USF, Navy, Rutgers, N.D. in South Bend, Louisville, Cincy and the big rivalry game with W. VA. Should be a good year for them if they get through that. Of course, I would be thrilled as heck if they could knock off the Irish in their own yard.

Rest assured I'll be making another trip to South Bend. Went there my sophomore year of college when Pitt had that great comeback win and made his greatest quote ever on national TV..."I'm so proud of my F'n teammates" though it wasn't censored. Great game, had a drunk convo with a priest later that evening, and met Montana's daughter (uggggly)

great trip it was

Sounds like fun. I have always wanted to go to a game there. I think Oklahoma is trying to get a series contracted with ND. Last time Oklahoma played up there was in Stoops' second year. Got up there and had a 21 point lead on them and let it get away because the defense was not good enough yet.
Should be a promising hear for you guys then. Hope it goes well. I like the atmsophere at the college games. I go to 4 or 5 a year in Norman and the big Red River Rivalry in Dallas. Just watch those drunk priests.......LOL.

Promising "year".
