NFL GMs look at history of NFL draft in selecting college players
This season, NFL general managers took a hard look at the history of NFL drafts to determine who to select in the first round. Wide receivers were the riskiest Round 1 pick, so none of the 32 teams picked a receiver in the first round. Not even the 49ers, who passed up Cal's DeSean Jackson after being last in several offensive categories last season. If the draft pans out a success for these teams, it may mark a shift in who is selected in upcoming NFL drafts.
