Should Officials Decide a Game's Outcome? NO!

The biggest controversy in college football--in football in general--from this past weekend revolves around the end of the BYU-Washington game on Saturday. Jake Locker and the Huskies were flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct while celebrating a touchdown at the end of the game that brought them within one point of tying the Cougars, subsequently lengthening the PAT to 35 yards and affording BYU a better chance to block the kick--which they did. Regardless of whether the call was correct by rule, it was wrong to make it in the first place, and here is s my opinion on it and why the rule should be changed to prevent this kind of controversy from happening in the future.

How about you get a kicker who can kick 35 yards? End of story.

Hogwash I say. UW most certainly would have gone for 2. No way BYU could keep Locker from running it in from a few yards out to win the game.

Was going for two an option before the penalty?

I can't believe I am commenting on this tired story. The kcker probably would have missed the PAT anyhow and and while Saviour could ran it in do you really think TYRONE WILLINGHAM would have called that play.
