He's def captivated us as fans, but I don't know if he's more impressive than Reggie Bush or a handful of others

True that, theTruth, now I hope he can back it up this season with a good year. And I'm not even a Gator Fan, but must admit the SEC from top to bottom is a tough conf. with the BIG 12 and PAC-10 getting better top to bottom this year and last. I look for a great NCAA Season. My faves are Syracuse, Michigan, Navy, USC, Texas and Notre Dame in D-1, last year was a year for a cryin towel, make that cryin towels for that matter, LOL... I just hope we have a better season.

Definatly not the best college player of our era. VY, Reggie Bush, Lienart etc... You must lead your team to a Natioal Championship or raise the level of a program entirely to be called the greatest of an era. Meyer is just pumping up his player and i cant blame him for that but its a wrong statement and will ebver be true becasue the Gators will not win the NC this year.

I agree completely, he's a good QB and a fun player to watch, but he's got a national championship only as a backup to Chris Leak

Tebow is the greatest player of our era, the gators needed every play he made to win the title that year, he made huge 4th down runs, and play action passes that busted open games, he is a SEC champion, national champion, heisman winner, and the best QB in the best conference in college football, has a record for most rushing td's in a season, and he is just entering his junior year, give me someone with better crudentials after two years, Cal sucks, get over it.

First of all, this has nothing to do with whether or not my team is good. Cal blew their golden opportunity last season. Secondly, there's no way that Tebow is the best player of our era! You're telling me that he's better than Vince Young, Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart, Andre Johnson, Carson Palmer, Ken Dorsey (at Miami, not in the NFL)...keep naming them. He's up there, but he's not THE best. Oh, and watch your mouth about my Bears

Oh, and Chris Leak was the everydown QB that year, Tebow was just the change of pace guy. If he was the greatest, I think he would've started over Leak, don't you think?

I got some stuff for you Bear fan, since you have yet to give me crudentials from any of your best player candidates, I will give you some big time reasons why it is not a ridiculous claim to say Tebow is the best player of our era. First, he plays, plays, you notice he is not finished his college career yet, he plays in the SEC, the super exceptional conference, not the PAC 10, aka the poor athletic conference, or the girlscouts as its known, I know you agree with that, the best QB in the best conference, what does that tell you, exactly. Ok, here we go, Tebow is a household name, he runs it, passes it, and runs it some more, has a record for rushing td's in a season and total td's in the SEC (toughest conference), more than reggie bush, more than vince young, and the first player to pass for and rush for 20 td's in the same season, oh yeah, he is only a Junior, give me some crudentials that won't even come close to TEBOW's or I will assume you hiding under a rock somewhere, but I think we can all agree on the best player of our era.

DaHi, I'm in florida and hear a lot about Tebow, I just want to see him complete the season and good stats and not be a 1 hit wonder. If he does that, you have to at least put him on the list and his kudos. Know what I mean.

First of all Troy Smith got pummeled in the National Championship game, he won the heisman, got killed by florida in the NC game, are you serious with your sports knowledge?

Check it out, your a tennessee fan, thats the largest rival of florida, I don't expect you to really agree with me, but you must not watch college football if you think Troy Smith won a national championship, they lost to florida 41-14, guess who was on that team, yup, tim tebow, take a poll, and ask any random person on the street, they will tell you that tim tebow is the most well known and at the end of the day the best player of our era just because how popular his game is and his global recognition.
