ZN's College Football Top 25 :: Pre-Preseason 2008

Now that spring practice is long gone and signing day a distant memory, we're finally getting our first good look at the teams going into 2008. Stocks have risen and fallen, some up like a rocket and some down with a thud. It pains me to say this, but on paper, the SEC should retain its top conference reputation. I'd follow that closely by the Big XII, and then the Big Ten. It's not the usual landscape we've been used to, with teams like Kansas, Missouri up top, and Illinois and Pitt bringing back old memories. 2008 should be a very fun year for college football. At least, I think it will be.

Penn State 10th?!?!?! Wow, what are you smoking? They have no QB, and if Devlin is the answer...they won't finish the season in the top 25. They lost their best LB and CB to the draft and their 2nd best LB to injury. But hey, I guess that Temple game will do wonders for their SoS!

I guess the eight bowl teams on penn st.'s schedule will hurt the SoS. The backups at those positions are really good. They will miss Lee and King. Ten is too high, maybe 15.

Don't count out Florida State...yes, they got a bunch of players suspended for the first 2 games, but those 2 games they play Western Carolina and Chattanoga...FSU has a pretty good team, an experienced QB and an, as always, solid defense

i dont even know where to begin w/ this one. these rankings are garbage. ku and missou are not going to catch anyone by suprise this year. the big 12 is not as good as they are made out to be. and dont get me started on the "little 10". until that conference can win a big non-conference game (florida blew last year) dont even say the are in the top 3 of anything

Amen...the "not so" Big 10. Can't wait til Joe Pa is done and Pitt can resume their rivalry with Penn St!

Thanks for the input guys, but it's kind of funny how all of your teams have either not gone to a bowl, or have had the worst seasons in recent program memory. Try winning some games, then we'll talk.

win your conference loser. the next big game georiga wins will be the first. i pray to God its sc and uga in the game this year.

mvp129 is right ya'lls team don't win my UGA bulldogs will be on top unlike freeagentjb's trojans.

How is Oregon not in the top 25? Oklahoma is overrated and will prove me right just like they did the last 2 bowl seasons!
