Clemson lands second five-star recruit in as many days

Head coach Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers are on a roll on the 2024 recruiting trail.

Just a day after landing five-star linebacker Sammy Brown — the highest-ranked linebacker in 247Sports history — Clemson has snagged the commitment of another elite recruit.

Bryant Wesco, five-star wide receiver from Midlothian, Texas, committed to Clemson after a visit to campus this past weekend.

“Love everything,” Wesco told 247Sports about his soon-to-be college home. “The highlight of the visit for me was getting to spend time with the players and staff and playing games with all of them and getting to know them.

“One of my favorite things about the program is how close everyone is. How most of their staff are former players and their players and coaches rarely leave. It speaks a lot.”

Wesco is clearly happy about what he saw at Clemson, and the Tigers have got to be absolutely thrilled about landing his commitment. He's a 6-foot-2, 170-pound rising senior wide receiver ranked as the No. 3 wideout in his class as well as the No. 9 overall player nationally.

Just as impressive is the fact that 247Sports considers Wesco the top recruit from the state of Texas, which is one of the most fertile recruiting grounds in the nation.

As a junior in high school, Wesco notched 58 receptions for 17 touchdowns and more than 1,000 receiving yards.
