'Full House' star Jodie Sweetin announces engagement to Mescal Wasilewski

Life is very bittersweet right now for Jodie Sweetin.

The "Full House" star announced Monday (Jan. 17) that she is engaged to Mescal Wasilewski.

In the Instagram photo, Sweetin is beaming, showing off her newly occupied ring finger and snuggling up to Wasilewski. The caption quotes the late (great) Maya Angelou before saying, "I love you Mescal, for always. You're my person. I can't wait to see the life that lies ahead for us. Here's to us, @ghostfacelito and our life of adventures. Together. I think I'm really gonna like turning 40."

Sweetin will celebrate her 40th birthday Wednesday.

The heartwarming news came one week after Sweetin lost her "Full House" TV dad Bob Saget, who died unexpectedly at 65 years old on Jan. 9. The entire "Full House" cast posted tributes in the immediate aftermath, including Sweetin, of course.

Sweetin played Stephanie Tanner, middle daughter to Saget's Danny Tanner, for the duration of "Full House" (1987-95) as well as Netflix's revival series "Fuller House" (2016-20).

Saget's funeral was held last Friday in the Hollywood Hills.

Sweetin revealed she was dating Wasilewski on Valentine's Day 2018. The actress has been married three times before. She shares 11-year-old daughter Beatrix with Marty Coyle, her third husband, as well as 13-year-old daughter Zoie with Cody Herpin, her second husband. She had first been married to Shaun Holguin in the early 2000s.
