Netflix has announced that it will hold the world premiere of Ultraman: Rising at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival this year. The streaming giant also revealed plans for its ‘Next on Netflix Animation: From Twilight of the Gods to Wallace & Gromit’ panel at the festival.

As the name implies, Netflix will have various panels at the event to promote its upcoming animated projects. The main show will be on June 12, where footage from the upcoming Wallace & Gromit film will be shown. Zack Snyder will also unveil new clips from his next animated project, Twilight of the Gods. Following that, Netflix will showcase The Twits and Skydance Animation's Spellbound.

Besides those, Netflix will also host a "Work in Progress" session for the upcoming That Christmas. As for the official Annies competition, both Blue Eye Samurai and Pokemon Concierge are in the running.

The highlight of the festival will be Ultraman’s screening, which arrives two days later on the streaming service. Ultraman: Rising is a CG animated film telling new adventures by rebooting the character's mythos for newcomers.

Following its premiere, Netflix will hold a special “Making Of” panel with directors Shannon Tindle and John Aoshima in attendance. There will be other "Making Of Sessions" on June 13, featuring behind-the-scenes looks at Big Mouth season 8 and Arcane season 2.

Here is the official description of Ultraman: Rising.

With Tokyo under siege from rising monster attacks, baseball star Ken Sato reluctantly returns home to take on the mantle of Ultraman. But the titanic superhero meets his match when he reluctantly adopts a 35-foot-tall, fire-breathing baby kaiju. Sato must rise above his ego to balance work and parenthood while protecting the baby from forces bent on exploiting her for their own dark plans. In partnership with Netflix, Tsuburaya Productions, and Industrial Light & Magic, Ultraman: Rising is written by Shannon Tindle and Marc Haimes, directed by Shannon Tindle, and co-directed by John Aoshima.

As for Twilight of the Gods, we don't know too much about it except that Zack Snyder's creatively involved, so you can expect plenty of slow-motion action. Netflix's description points to the show bringing "Zack Snyder’s daring and spectacular vision of ancient Norse mythology" to life.

The Annecy International Animation Film Festival will take place in Annecy, France, from June 9, 2024, to June 15, 2024.
