Tiffany Haddish addresses DUI: 'We're gonna work it out'

Tiffany Haddish was arrested for DUI after reportedly falling asleep behind the wheel in Georgia, as TMZ reported earlier this month.

Haddish was all smiles while remotely appearing on Monday's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where Fallon began the interview by explaining that he had given Haddish the option to cancel the scheduled appearance after she had been in the news with the DUI and her split from Common.

"I can say this, Jimmy," the Emmy- and Grammy-winning actress and comedian said. "I've been praying to God to send me a new man—a good man—and God went ahead and sent me four in uniform. I wasn't expecting it. I was not expecting that at all. And now, I've got a really great lawyer, and we're gonna work it out."

Haddish, 42, then opened up about the death of Bob Saget as well as her grandmother.

"[Saget] was a big mentor to me, a big brother, a father figure, he meant a lot to me," she said. "He was the first white man to ever tell me, 'Just be yourself. Just be who you are, Tiffany. Don't worry about nothing. Just be you.' And that was huge for me."

"My grandma passed away, and she saved my life," Haddish continued. "That's my heart. She was like my soulmate. That's been really hard to process all this grief."

The Girls Trip star promised that she is going to have something good come from this recent streak of negative happenings by making her next comedy special about grief, and "it's gonna be hilarious."

Haddish also discussed her new Apple TV Plus series The Afterparty. Watch both clips below.
