Lazio sporting director Igli Tare reiterated the need to give Biancocelesti forward Vedat Muriqi more time to settle at the club.

Speaking in an interview with Albanian broadcaster RTV Dukagjini (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, Tare commented on the 26-year-old Muriqi’s disappointing first season in Rome.

It’s his first year here at Lazio, he has had two injuries, he also had Covid and all this has made it difficult for him to adapt to the team.

Muriqi has everyone’s respect. We sincerely hope that he will be able to express himself at his best because he is a player who can give a lot to Italian football and represents Kosovo.

The 26-year-old Muriqi, who is contracted to the Biancocelesti until 2025, has made 26 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 842 minutes. In that time, he has scored two goals and provided one assist.

The Kosovan’s tough first season in Italy is reflected in his stats as well, having only taken 14 shots in the league, with only four of them being on target.
