Watch: Tom Brady throws two early TD passes vs. Eagles
Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The historical start to his 22nd season in the NFL for Tom Brady apparently isn’t coming to a conclusion any time soon.

With his Tampa Bay Buccaneers taking on the Philadelphia Eagles Thursday night, Brady started the game out red hot. The seven-time Super Bowl champion completed 10-of-11 passes in the first quarter with touchdown tosses to O.J. Howard and Antonio Brown mixed in.

The first score went to Howard and was of the two-yard variety.

That’s nothing to write home about.

However, Tom Brady would then connect with Antonio Brown on a 23-yard pass later in the first quarter to give Tampa Bay a 14-7 lead.

It was definitely a bold strategy for Philadelphia’s defense to leave Brown wide open over the middle of the field. It’s not like Brady hasn’t made a career taking advantage of mistakes from opposing defenses.

By virtue of these two touchdown passes, Tom Terrific has now tallied 17 scores and just two interceptions in less than six full games this season.
