Fans tossed for sitting during National Anthem

Commenting on these types of things usually opens up a big can of worms, but these guys should have had some respect for the flag, especially if they are U.S. citizens. Tossing them out of the arena was definitely a little extreme. It's just another example of people having no respect. People don't stand up and some people don't take their hats off anymore. Maybe they do have respect for the flag of this country, but if they do, then show it like most other people. Hell, I even stand for another country's anthem out of respect. Freedom of speech of one thing, but respect is another.

I guess it depends on what you feel is more important... granted, not standing could be interpreted as disrespectful, although we don't know specifically why they didn't stand. That said, I've always felt the freedom of speech is important enough so to withstand disrespect.

They're rights to freedom of speech were definatly violated. It is kind of ironic that it was all over an anthem to show respect to that freedom. Then again it doesn't seem they had any thing to say I mean I haven't heard anything about them making a silent protest it doesn't appear to be a rights violation as much them getting kicked out for being lazy. Either way I did read they were sueing I hope this doesn't become lucritive for them atleast.

If the freedoms outlined in our Bill of Rights are not protected in such situations, then there is no substance to what the flag is intended to be a symbol of. It is far more disrespectful to The United States of America to act contrary to its expressed and historic virtues than it is to sit during its anthem. Go ahead and be angry that some people don't realize how good they have it, but don't go Hitler on them.
