Jack Arute calls it dead right on Danica

I'm not convinced Danica Patrick has what it takes to race right at the very top, but how many drivers do? To me it's beyond doubt she's plenty good enough to be where she is at the moment - in one of the best cars with one of the best teams. In F1 terms, she's a Jarno Trulli or a Nick Heidfeld rather than a Lewis Hamilton or a Fernando Alonso. But it seems that, for a lot of people, if she's not perfect she's not fit to be let out of the house. I hate that attitude, and as a result I love this Jack Arute column on the IndyCar site.

I agree, for the most part, with andydarleys comments regarding Danica. I do think she must be somewhat more aggressive( on the track ) and push her ( AGR's ) car harder...easy for me to say...to close the timing gap that exists between her and the leaders ( sometimes only hundredths or thousandths of a second per lap ).
With regard to Jack Arute's " view " of the Milka Duno pitside incident I agree 95 percent. I'll defer 5 percent to Scott Goodyear's & Marty Reid's point of view on how it should have been handled. ( The absense of B. Barnhart's involvement in the cause of the incident ( M. Duno's erratic and dangerous driving ) and the pitside incident, itself, is remarkably conspicuous ).
Speaking of Scott Goodyear, I think that his perspective and analysis of each driver and his/her racing skills and shortcomings has been practically perfect. Case in point: his observations of Justin Wilson's side-to side curb hopping attempts to pass Danica at the end of the race, and the suspension settings that would have allowed them, provided input that otherwise might have gone unnoticed....Thanks, Scott & Marty.
In closing ( about time, I think ) I'd like to quote the last three lines of Jack Arute's ( View From Pit Lane )...." I like what Danica Patrick brings to the IndyCarSeries. I admire the fact that she has asked for no quarter and celebrate that she gives none. Hang in there, D.P. Keep doing what you do."
I couldn't have said it better.

You are doing a huge injustice to Nick Heidfeild and Jarno Trulli she would not even make the grid for a formula 1 race. In terms of who she would be like compare her more to Fisichella or either of the two Force India drivers.

Fisi *is* one of the two Force India drivers.

And I wasn't making a direct comparison between her and the F1 drivers - what I meant was, the distance between her and Dixon / Kanaan / Helio is similar to the distance between Nick and the drivers who win championships. It's a very small distance, but a real distance.

Of course, what we really need is to see them all driving the same machinery against each other in the Race of Champions...
