Denver Recap

Well, the weekend definitely didn't go how I envisioned it. It's weird how you can train as hard as you possibly can, work as hard as you can as a team for 3 weeks, and when you get out on the field it just doesn't come together, and that's exactly what happened to us last Saturday in Denver.

We got off to an ok start, but in the second corner, Denver went on a run and we were never able to recover from it. The thing about this league is that every team is good, and at some point, everyone's going to go on a run, it's all about learning to deal with it, and recover from it. Because of the 60 second shot clock, your always going to get another opportunity to get back in the game. But, we just couldn't put it together on Saturday. Their goalie, Jesse (former teammate of mine at Hopkins) played very well. He's a good goalie and once he gets going and into a rhythm, he's tough to score on. I snuck one in on him early, but he had my number the rest of the game.

Personally, I definitely need to play better for us to be successful, and I will. I need to be A LOT more aggressive, which will start this Sunday at Chicago. I only took a few shots, and I need to have a bigger impact on the game.

Clearly, you never want to lose a game, but if you've got to, it's good to lose early in the season and pick it up for the rest of the season. We've got 2 more opportunities to play against Denver this year, and their both at home, so I'm looking forward to getting after against those guys again.

As I mentioned earlier, we've got Chicago this weekend at home, and it's time to get this thing heading back in the right direction.

I'll check in mid week and see what's good with the NBA playoffs.

No need to worry about the loss. You guys will bounce back. Like you said, I suppose it's better to lose earlier in the season... it gives you time to learn from your mistakes, right? Just going to have to come out even stronger.

I know you're a fan of the NBA... Lakers, Spurs, Pistons and the Celtics. Who is your pick!?

Anyway, best luck in Chicago this weekend.

I appreciate the kind words, I hope your right. And yeah, it definitely gives you time to learn from mistakes made in the game. For me, it' sall about being aggressive, so I've spent the week shooting for a few hours a day. Hopefully it'll pay off this weekend.

As for my pick, I'm not sure! I'm liking the idea of a Lakers/Celtics final. However, to be completely honest, I've got to take the Spurs. What do you think?

Oh come on! I had faith in you, don't let me down now. NO Spurs!

Did you watch the Lakers 20 point come back tonight? That was crazy, Kobe just went off. I love it. I'm pulling for the Lakers, they're my other other team. After the Suns and Blazers of course. But I'm from LA, love the Lakers and really dislike San Antonio. My pick is LA to win it all. It has been for a while though.

Good for you, getting out and practicing on your game. :)

tough one, but when langtry puts up 8 points, mundorf puts in 5, and hanna brown and westervelt each with 4 a piece. that tought when taht many guys make solid contributions.

the cavs were eliminated in the nba playoffs, so it doesn't matter who wins now. hopefully the celtics and the lakers go. if anything i hope garnettt and allen get a ring.

Yeah man, all those guys looked good and are extremely talented dudes. That team has got a lot of weapons for sure.

It would be nice to see KG and Allen get a ring, it's going to be difficult though...

It must be nice to be able to just go out and play lacrosse whenever you want to. Hope you guys do better this week.
Who's your pick for the NCAA lax tournament?

Got to go with my boys from Hopkins man. What about yours?

Hate to say it man, but I'm pickin syracuse. I will wish Hopkins good luck thought. Just out of curiosity, have you ever played laxketball?
