Teams all over the majors have bullpen issues due to injuries and just plain ineffectiveness. AccuScore analyst Jonathan Lee ranks the closers so you know who to rely on for your fantasy teams and who to avoid.
The Joe Nathan deal was worth it. Now if only the Twins had some pitchers to work the 7th and 8th innings. Why won't managers throw back the clock to the days when the closer would work 2-3 innings and not just 3 batters?
I think that since closers cost so much money, managers want to ensure the long term health of their closer by limiting their innings in the short term. The trade of AJ Pierzynski for Nathan, Francisco Liriano, and Boof Bonser was definitely one of the biggest steals in recent history.
