I had serious concerns about Frank Thomas heading into the 2006 season. Despite an extremely productive year, I still have serious health concerns about Thomas. Yeah, he's not playing the field, but turf won't help the big man who supposedly hasn't run all offseason. If Lind does have a "gaudy" spring, I would keep him, have him spot Big Frank a game or so a week to keep him fresh and work him into the outfield a game or two a week as well. Ultimately, Thomas will get hurt and Lind will take over DH'ing duties, but until then, there's nothing wrong with keeping his bat in the lineup while at the same time keeping others fresh.
