BREAKING: Mets Acquire Johan Santana

I'm numb. It's finally over? I don't believe it.

Carlos Gomez, Phil Humber, Deolis Guerra and Kevin Mulvey is the package that got it done, according to USA Today.

So the Mets acquire the best pitcher in baseball and hold on to their top prospect, Fernando Martinez. Not a bad day's work for Omar Minaya.

The Mets are better at ruining second basemen then pitchers. This could actually work out. Especially if Pedro takes on a mentor role.

I think both the Red Sox and Yankees package were a better fit, before they came off the table. Hats off to the Mets for once again pulling the deal that they had to make.

of course it matters. the mets just picked up one of the top three pitchers in the game without giving up anything on the major league roster. the mets are clearly a lot better today than they were last week
