Does Joe Boroski really deserve to be on this list?

Johnny Estrada. He was traded for nothing in the offseason after a year in which he hit .260 and was replaced by Brian McCann. Now he's leading all NL catchers in RBI with 57 (second in the majors behind Victor Martinez) and is hitting .309. One more HR will put him into double digits and set a new career high. He's not as sexy a pick, but very deserving after putting up these numbers after a season so bad that he was traded for it.

You have to go with Magglio Ordonez. He's back to his stellar self, and if he weren't playing with the pay-no-attention-to Detroit Tigers, you'd be hearing much more about him.

Personally you've gotta love Beltran in the NL...remember comeback player is not "most improved player"...it's the player who was once great and then fell into crap...Beltran had a monster season for KC/HOU, then signed that monster contract and went .266 w/ 16HRs and 78RBI...this year 377AB he's already blown away those numbers hitting .284 w/ 33HRs & 97RBI...now that's a comeback.

There's no easy answer. Just to play Devil's advocate and choose someone that hasn't been picked yet, what about Frank Thomas? He hasn't played well in over two years and I didn't think he'd make it through 30 games carrying 300 pounds around on one ankle. He's in the heart of the A's order and has been on a tear lately.

I have to disagree with Beltran's nomination. Yeah, he had a very subpar season last year, but he wasn't horrible. If any Mets should be on the list it should be Valentin.

Valentin's been great but he's more like back from the dead rather than comeback player of the year,

Garciaparra and Thome. Easy.
