I'm too lazy to look this up but I once read that if you adjust Pedro's stats to the era he played in, he's actually the best pitcher to ever play the game. Pedro was Maddux with way more strike outs. He should be #1 on your list. Check out his stats from 1997 to 2003.

Maddux was consistenly great for 16 seasons, and is only now becoming merely servicable.

Martinez being spectacular for 6.5, good for 5, and now he's just gimpy.
