Ben Joyce Likely Headed to IL with Tingling Hand Injury Sustained Friday

Friday brought forth a ton of good for the Los Angeles Angels overall as they were able to take down the Seattle Mariners in a tight 5-4 victory and extend their winning streak to five. This is the second time in 2023 that they have won this many games in a row and despite facing a number of obstacles thus far, they are on a dominant stretch right now.

Even though Shohei Ohtani continued to look out of sorts at the pitching mound and gave up three earned runs, the bullpen was able to put out the fire for a bit and maintain the lead. Ben Joyce was among the first relievers to enter the game after Ohtani's five innings but was unfortunately only able to deal out eight pitches with one walk before leaving the game with a trainer by his side.

Reporters initially believed that he had suffered a hand injury and they were right, it was confirmed after the game that he was feeling constant tingling and team manager Phil Nevin views the IL as his most plausible option.

Joyce had just five games under his belt when he started feeling this discomfort in his hand and it's a shame because it looked like he was starting to look more comfortable as each inning went. Through those five games, Joyce has recorded a 4.50 ERA with about five strikeouts.

Those numbers are not anything crazy but any fan that has tuned into games as of late knows how much be's looked since initially getting called o.
