Birds Blank Yanks in Baltimore

Joba Chamberlain returned to the Yankees. That's the only positive to come out of Saturday's contest. Ian Kennedy labored, the bats were silent and Ramon Hernandez and Aubrey Huff drove in two runs each as the Orioles shutout the Yanks 6-0 at Camden Yards.

Another May return for a popular Yankee?

It's now the month of May, the New York Yankees are struggling (although not as bad as last year), so does that mean a blast from the past be returning for another stint? It was the month of May last year, when Roger Clemens showed up at Yankees stadium and announced to a sold out crowd that he was   more...

Hey Yanks! Don't call the Tribe, the Tribe will call you

The game story in the New York Post today is a classic example of the mindset of the Yankees, their fans and the reporters that cover the team. Two classic components of the Yankee attitude are on display.1.) Everyone wants to be a Yankee under any circumstances - no questions asked. 2.) The   more...

No bugs, just bats, as Tribe tops Yanks in ALDS rematch

Yankee fans and the reporters who follow their team have a long memory, and a strong penchant for whining. You probably won't be surprised to note that the folks here in the Big Apple are still worried about midges.A couple of blasts - by Jhonny Peralta and Franklin Gutierrez - keyed the Tribe to a   more...

Hey Ian, your attitude is what needs adjusting

An open letter to New York Yankees' rookie pitcher Ian Kennedy.Dear Egotistical Ian,What the hell is going on with you? Baseball Mastermind 2008 Top-25 Prospects

I wanted to wait for Baseball America to come up with their annual top 100 before I published my list, but maybe getting my list out beforehand will be nice to see how they compare. In compiling this list, I've gone through my own notes on each of these players, consulted ESPN's Keith Law's   more...

AccuScore Fantasy Baseball - Starting Pitchers

I don't value pitchers that much in fantasy baseball. If you are in a head to head league, you really only need two solid pitchers, mixed with a good supply of spot starters. If you are in a 5x5 league, then you don't want to load up on pitchers because you don't want to go over your innings   more...

Kennedy On Track, Despite SI's Red Flag

According to Verducci, Kennedy could be headed for trouble due to the 165.1 innings that he tossed last season after throwing just 104.1 innings in 2006. Of course, Peter Abraham is quick to point out that Kennedy participated in the Hawaii Winter League following the '06 season, and so actually   more...
