My Brief Brush With Cubs Fandom

As anyone who knows me or reads this blog regularly knows, i grew up in iowa. Northwest iowa to be specific. Growing up there, you had three choices of baseball teams to root for: The Royals, the Twins, or the Cubs.A Back when i was young and growing up, the Royals were actually good and had George   more...

FOX Chooses Ratings Over Meaningful Baseball

Stuff like this just pisses me off. FOX has decided to replace the Mets-Marlins game, which has huge Playoff implications, with the possibly meaningless Yankees-Red Sox game. The main game for the network will be the Cubs and Brewers, but most of the East Coast (25% of the country in total) will   more...

Photo tour of Wrigley Field rooftop luxury skybox

You've seen them up there, watching the game from across the street. But have you ever been inside a luxury rooftop skybox? Cubs blogger Matt Paolelli checked one out for a bachelor party and assembled this photo tour for inquisitive fans.

Legends of Wrigley: Chicago Cubs All-Time Team

Spanning nearly a hundred years - from "Three-Finger" to Sosa - this collection of the all-time greatest Cubbie players by team position is sure to entertain, impress and possibly annoy - but will surely spark many heated debates among devoted fans. Can't say I agree with all the choices, but they   more...

Today (Or Yesterday) In Nut Shots, Chris Snyder's Broken Testicle (Wait, What?!)

I went back and looked at the Snyder video yesterday after it was mentioned in the comments. While the commentary from Mark Grace was pretty funny it just didn't seem that bad. Snyder jumped up quickly and even stayed in the game for an inning or two. I really didn't think it was worth posting.   more...

The Media Circus

At this point in the season, we've come to the conclusion that the baseball networks are simply antagonizing us. Over the course of this summer, we documented Eric Byrnes' penchant for TV whoredom, in which Byrnes appears in ridiculous skit-based segments on the Fox Saturday baseball pregame show.   more...

Your MLB Announcing Schedule For The Weekend

The majority of the country is getting a double dose of Red Sox-Angels this weekend, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The bad news is really for those on the East Coast who don't get that game (like me). We're stuck with Stockton and McCarver. Yes!Oh and a quick reminder. This weekend's   more...

Sorry folks. I completely forgot to put this post up yesterday. Here is your announcing schedule for the weekend and we're once again missing the Buckster. The Media Circus

For over 20 years, Dick Stockton has been one of the primary play-by-play men for NBA and NFL action on CBS and Fox. He's done some baseball in his career, with his most notable accomplishment coming in Game 6 of the 1975 World Series for his call of Carlton Fisk's home run. With Joe Buck's   more...

Your MLB Announcing Schedule For The Weekend

A really interesting schedule for this weekend. The first amazing thing is that there's no Red Sox or Yankees for the first time since May 29th! I'm stoked for the Dodgers-Brewers game, but good lord there are some crappy teams on this schedule.FOX is again tapping into the local broadcaster well   more...

Your MLB Announcing Schedule For The Weekend: The Return Of The King!

He's baaaaaack! We all knew it was too good to be true folks. Joe Buck is back with his good pal Tim McCarver and they're calling a Yankees game. Kill me now.
