Updating oft-injured pitchers

Don't know why I am wasting time on these two pitchers, but here are some injury updates for the New York Mets Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez and St. Louis Cardinals Mark Mulder. Mulder has had a setback in his rehab assignments, while Hernandez has finally taken the boot off.

Cyril Morong of 'Beyond the Boxscore' created two 15 player lists, one of pitchers who improved from the 2005 to 2006, the other of players who declined. Hot Winter Already Brewing

We're not finished with the World Series yet, and it seems like just about everyone outside of Detroit and St. Louis is eager to find out what big moves will be made this offseason. In a free-agent market that doesn't exactly fit the billing of "spectacular", teams are going to be hard-pressed to   more...

No el Duque for NLDS, Maine to start

Official word has come down that El Duque will be scratched not only from his start, but from the NLDS roster altogether due to a tear in his claf. He is questionable for the NLCS, if the Mets get past the Dodgers. John Maine will start game one.Personally, I have confidence in Maine. The   more...

El Duque re-signs with the Mets

The Mets have re-signed Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez to a 2-year, $11 million deal. At first this was being reported as $6 million over 2 years, not per. It's a bit steep, but this is a franchise that's approaching Yankee-levels of revenue, so it's hardly a budget buster. Last year for the Mets   more...

A Pitch for Pitching in the Offseason

It's been about a week now since the Adam Wainright curveball to Carlos Beltran ended the Mets season and I have to admit, I'm still not over it. El Duque to miss postseason!

This is damaging news to the Mets. They lost 2 of their 3 best starters in Pedro and Hernandez just coming into the playoffs. We can only hope a rotation of Glavine, Perez, Maine, and Trachsel can pull off something amazing.
