Final Thoughts on UFC 86: Rampage Robbed

* I still can't believe Rampage lost that decision on Saturday night. I have always been a firm believer that you need to decisively beat the champion in order to take away his belt. I guess that's the problem with scoring bouts; you win a round here or there and, voila, you're the new champ.

In order to understand how unjust this fight was just switch the figthers make Forrest the champ an Rampage the challenger then watch the fight again. Let's say Forrest rocked then dropped Rampage in the first. Rampage jacks up Forrest leg and then mounts him but doesn't hurt him in the second. Forrest picks Quinton up in the third and slams him out of a triangle. Forrest then rocks him on every inside exchange so that Rampage fights from the outside to aviod damage for the next two rounds. Then the belt is takin from Forrest by unamious desicion. The people in the attendance and watching at home would have lost there minds in outrage.Dana fix this or taint your company. I know the forrest faithful will say whatever they want to say but not one of them will be bold enough to say rematch.

im on record saying i thought rampage won that fight-but who cares what the "forrest faithful" say. unless he retracted it forrest said right after the fight that "they should do it again"

Did you really see Rampage slam Forrest out of the triange? Or did you see Forrest let go to avoid taking the slam? Landing punches and leg kicks from the outside still scores points. I like both fighters and I scored it 3 rounds to 2 for Griffin. Maybe I was still working off by buzz from the 4th though.

REMATCH!!!!!!

Any way you slice it, Forrest won the fight. At best, one could try to argue that it was a draw, but there is no way Rampage won the fight.

Rampage wasn't robbed. Forrest controled the center of the octagon for almost the whole fight which is points within itself.

By the way, your picture does not tell the whole story - here is one that does a little better...

I am not a avid basketball fan, but if you've ever watched the SPURS you'll see that they are somewhat boring but their final their technique is effective. Griffin might not have submitted or hurt Rampage, but neither did Rampage.
I'm sure you've never attacked the TV after a fighter was submitted in the first minute of the fight. Knowing very well if the fight were to go on for a few more minutes the more stronger man would eventually win. Knock outs are a good example too, it happens and yet we await the next bout. Good fight Rampage, but even better great win Griffin.

so you think all three judges got this wrong? remember it was unanimous. There will definitely be a rematch and the outcome will probably be different, but with this fight Forrest did clearly win. Judges look at :Clean Strikes, Effective Grappling, Octagon Control and Effective Aggressiveness... forrest was chasing rampage around the cage!

The point is that this fight was obviosly really close. Some see it Rampage, some see it Forrest. In this situation, The Champ has always, should always and in the future will always get the win, except if the challenger is The Golden Boy of the organization. Two years ago, I would laughed at people who claimed fix, or rigged. The there was Tim Donaghy
