'06-'07 Previews: Cleveland Cavaliers

This is part of my series of articles concerning previews of all 30 NBA teams.

The Cavs have a championship on their minds. As long as they have LeBron James, it's a pretty safe bet that they keep that mentality. The keys are having some of the other pieces in place. We begun to see a bit of that last year, but will they have more this year.

One of the players to watch is Larry Hughes. He's got to have a good, healthy year. He needs to shake off last season, both professionally and personally. They need better play from their point guard position, whether it's Eric Snow or Damon Jones. Ilgauskas and Varejao provide some bulk inside.

It's going to be a wide open Eastern Conference, but the Cavs are right there in terms to contenders. I think they come up short against some of the more well-rounded teams (Chicago, Miami), but they'll give the league some hell.
