'06-'07 Previews: Washington Wizards

This is part of my series of articles previewing all 30 NBA teams and the upcoming season.

Do the Wizards have what it takes to take the next step? With the prospects of the East getting better from the bottom up and with the top teams still improving, do the Wizards have what it takes to stay afloat?

With the offensive talent involved, guys like Arenas, Jamison, and Butler, they should be in every game they play. I don't know how much they can do against the better teams in the NBA, but they should remain among the middle of the pack in East, looking at seeds 4-6 for them.

I don't know if the Wizards are a playoff caliber team this year, and if they are, they're definitely toward the bottom- more like a #8 seed. Although they do have offensive talent in Arenas and Jamison, Butler is for the most part on and off. Additionally, they don't have much of an inside scoring presence, in Brendan Haywood. I think I can list off seven teams that are more likely to have a better record in the east than the Wizards: the Bulls, Pistons, Heat, Nets, Sixers, Cavs, and Pacers. Try the Wizards at 8...maaaybe.
