2008 NBA Draft Prospect Nathan Jawai aka The Australian Shaq

Meet Nathan Jawai, yet another "The Next Shaquille O'Neal" type player to introduce yourself to.

Haven't we heard this enough with the likes of Adonal Foyle, Eddie Curry, Stanley Roberts, Michael Olowokandi, and the smaller versions Robert Traylor and Glen Davis?

Read the article an see for yourself if your buying the hype on this huge Aussie Star.

By the way, the next Shaq might just be playing for the Orlando Magic already, but goes by the name of Dwight Howard.

He's got a long way to go before you can call him Shaq, all I know is I have seen all his games this year he's between 6'9" and 6'10" and 280 not 7'0" as reported on some Australian websites. He does have amazing strength and a real aggression and he's also very athletic for his size and loves to dunk on people. His post moves are improving but doesn't have left hand as yet and his passing is good. Only been in the game a short time and has huge scope for improvement
Shaq - in the NBL yes in the NBA - no, Eddy Curry - Possibility with improvment
He will be a good player though and who knows in time people might be comparing the rookies to Nathan Jawai

Yeah this guy is 6'9 1/2 max but he has massive arms so he plays like a seven-footer, he is also incredibly explosive considering his bulk. He is a quick jumper and can get high off the ground from a standing start. Perhaps the most surprising thing I noticed when watching him play the New Zealand Breakers was his soft touch and mid-range shooting ability, suggesting that he could play a bigger role offensively in the NBA than most centers do. Someone will take a flyer on him in the early second round I'm sure, with his potential you'd really be stupid not to.
