The NBA posted the first results from the All Star Ballots today and no big surprise, a lot of players getting votes dont deserve to be where they are.

Jerry Stackhouse beating out Baron Davis?

Dampier more votes than Biedrins? Damper misses 95% of the layups that Biedrins turns into dunks.

Get off your butts and vote, and tell all your friends to vote. Vote the players that deserve it, not the person who had the best poster 2 years ago, or the player who lives closest to you.

	I attended a Mavs basketball game two weeks ago, and right there in the causeway there were several people punching out huge handfuls of ballots. They have 4 or 5 large file boxes filled with ballots, rigged to get Erik Dampier in the All-Star game.

	Jerry Stackhouse!? Does that dude even start? I read in the paper today that Baron is the only player in the NBA who averages at least 20 points, 5 boards, 5 dimes and 2 steals. If Jerry Stackhouse can do that, he's got my vote. Until then I'm voting for Baron.

	how does he deserve my vote? CP3, Dwill, kobe, ai are all having better seasons. You guys are complaining about jerry stackhouse not deserving, but neither does baron davis.

	deron is a better defender ( bd gets the steals, but theres a lot more to defense than that), deron shoots a much better fg%, and bd should be averaging more points/assists ( which hes not)/rebounds when he is playing on a higher tempo offense ( although the jazz are only a few ppg behind the warriors).

	damn i forgot to add this in too, dwill is surrounded by good rebounders. I can't say the same for baron davis. The rebounding stat doesn't mean much for a pg unless you are putting up huge numbers like jason kidd. I'm not saying bd doesnt deserve to be an allstar this year, because he does, but if you want to talk about voting for the best players, not your favorites, I can't see how baron davis deserves my vote.

	comment below viewing threshold. show / hide comment ok, baron davis is not a top 2 guard in the west and biedrins is not the top center, so neither of them deserve my vote.

	The last time Stackhouse was an All Star? 2000, 2001. Dampier? Never. Davis 22.5 ppg 5.3 rpg 8.5 apg Stackhouse 9.4 ppg 2.9 rpg 2.9 apg Dampier 4.5 ppg 6.5 rpg 0.5 apg The only 2 centers he's beating statistcally on the whole ballot are injured centers Nenad Kristic and Zaza Pachulia.

	thats nice, but people are better than bd, and the real voters are voting for them. Stack/Dampier get more of a local vote, but most of baron davis' votes are probably from that too.
