Warriors should make a huge push for AI2 and Josh Smith. Love to have either one of them.

Iggy is not gong anywhere. 76ers have plenty to sign him since he is their own free agent, and the cap hit is different than a free agent. I would say Josh Smith is a Clipper for sure. The kids has a ton of potential. Needs to work on his shot, but what an incredible athlete, and an extremely hard worker. Always getting better.

It was management. And I believe they could have offered Baron less than 17.8 mil (as the Clips did). What he was looking for was a long-term deal, not more money. And the Warriors were not giving him the 5-years he wanted.

well Baron already had a deal in place with the Clippers before he even opted out. Baron caught everybody by surprise and Mullin would have never thought he would opt out. Maybe he knew, then he would have tried to extend his contract.

Yeah... but I can't help but think that if management had indicated they were making him a priority (which he would have known well beforehand) he may have stayed. Discussions didn't just start after the season. One thing I do agree with you on, though, is that the whole thing is just f-cked up all around.

By the way, are you a Dubs fan? If so, what the HECK are you guys gonna do with Maggette? Why?

They let him go, Rich. They made no commitment to him. If you had been in a relationship with a girl for a few years and wanted to marry her and she said, "Well, I can only guarantee you one more year together... and then we'll see." What would you do? Would you honestly stay with someone who wasn't committed even though you'd made your intentions well known?

it may look like the players have the upper hand in these deals but IMO the front office does. they have the millions and if you want something or somebody you go out and pay for it and make deals happen. that what a good GM does. ask Danny Ainge

One thing I could never understand about Nellie is how he insists on playing people outside of thier natural position. We should have gotten a solid pg so Monta could play the 2 where he does best. I don't know who we could've gotten - but I just see this as such a reactionary move. Not very strategic.

I dont know Eliis played the pg in High School and averaged almost 6 dimes a game with 30+ppg.
Hopefully he learned alot from Baron about ball handling.

I love Baron, but this story had me rollin. I am of course a little bitter about BD leaving us here in The Bay, but this kind of makes me feel better knowing now that he is on a team that has no talent. Good luck BD, should've stayed here!

At least the Warriors stay fun to watch. It should be a high flying/dunking year with Monte and Maggette in the backcourt. I just don't understand that draft pick. Randolph is weak and there were some good players out there that could have helped.

I think Monta is very capable of running the point, hes a solid shooter, passer, all he really needs is to gain some vision and learn the point guard roll...Half the time he was bringing up the ball with Baron anyways, so it really doesn't matter. Also, I think they should give CJ Watson a shot at point, hes a solid PG from Tennessee and he can penetrate and create for slashers like Maggette and Monta, post up Biedrins, or kick it to Othella, JAX, or Belli for 3, yes.

I heard we're pursuing Keyon Dooling too, hes pretty sweet off the bench, I'm more excited to see what Anthony Randolph can do, hes a baller...
