Baron, don't go! Warriors and star PG at odds in contract negotiations

When it comes to contract negotiations, the Warriors have been idiots before and they look like they're heading down that path again. After one of the most successful but disappointing seasons ever for Warriors fans, things may be changing for the worst. Negotiations between the team and Baron Davis have been "insulting" to Baron and the two sides are so far apart that they may just stop now and Baron might declare for free agency THIS SUMMER! This would be the worst possible situation for Golden State, they need Baron or at least to trade him for somebody of value, they can't afford to just sit back and watch him leave. RE-SIGN BARON AND SAVE THE WARRIORS!

The Warriors are at a crossroads, do they try another run with these guys or is it time to start shipping some contracts for some prospects?

Nothing to worry about just yet. He's not going to leave Golden State via free agency - at least not without a sign and trade. The Warriors hold most of the cards here and they know it. No need to panic.

I think Baron is worth the money. I know that age is always a factor in contract negotiations but I think he is a very important asset to the team. I'm still hopeful that they will come to a resolution.

He is worth it, even though he is getting a little old

They need to restaff the entire upper management of the Warriors. We've lost some great players. Richardson, Dunleavy...the list goes on. If Mullin and the rest had played their cards a bit more smart over the years, we would be going a lot further in the playoffs.

"we've lost some great players"?! Dunleavy? are you kidding me!

Richardson and Dumbleavy should not be uttered in the same scentence.

Dunleavy hated the fans and vice-versa. He had no heart and put in little work. He might be getting 30+ points in multiple games this past season but that is because he is happy in Indiana and actually trying to prove his worth. I hate Dunleavy! We have made terrible trades in the past though. A good example of that is: Webber (first and second time), Gilbert Arenas, J-Rich, Mitch Richmond, and Tim Hardaway.

I still don't get the JRich trade, because Brandan Wright is not the same player as JRich...maybe he will become a star but the Warriors broke up a good nucleus.

I hear ya on that. I miss JRich but I think that was not a bad deal to get someone so much younger for so much cheaper at a very thin position. (especially because they were able to send him outside our confrence)
If Brandan Wright hits the weight room in the off season I think he will hush all the doubters. This kid has some serious potential.

You're right, Wright has the potential to be good but will it be too late to help this GS team?

heck no. i think it will come just at the perfect time.
Most of the guys on the team are still too young to rent a car!

Didn't Golden State have Antawn Jamison, too? He's pretty good, as well.

That J-Rich trade was stupid. And they better not let Baron go either. Do you think they will sign Barnes and Pietrus again?

baron better not go. we've already lost jrich. baron is the leader of this team. he's our best player and without him the warriors probably will never make the playoffs ever again. even monta is thinking about the knicks. the warriors are already a great team. they're actually one of the elite teams in the NBA already and then out of no where we could become one of the worst teams in the nba. WHAT MORE COULD THE WARRIORS DO TO THE BAY AREA!!
