its not like lebrons jumpshot is going to be lethal...he will never win 3 rings and oh yeah...HE PLAYS IN THE EAST...u cant make the excuses of give him a better team because if u gave him one he wouldnt average as many points..in 2005 kobes team was terrible and he averaged 35 ppg and scored 81 in a game....and who cares how long it took kobe to win it he coulda won it 4 times by now and everyone knows it.....bottom line lebron wont have a better career then kobe

If I could have King James on the current Lakers squad, i.e trade Kobe for Lebron straight up, I would take Lebron. LeBron is less selfish and would dish about 15 assists per game, while racking up 30 points and 8 rebounds. Lebron would be able to actual sit on the bench for 5-10 min and in turn play Kobesq type defense.

Ok, so people are bringing up the future, but the question is who is better now. Right now it is Kobe, he is a better shooter, defender, and is more clutch. By the time they are all done who knows! Lebron will be a great player that is known for his driving and slamming. Kobe will be known for his finesse play, his incredible mid range game, and coming up with that big three ball when you need it. I dont see a reason why you cant be a fan of both players. I am, and I love watching lebron highlights. Somebody was talking about Lebron dunking on KG, but what about Kobe blocking Yao and Tim earlier in the season? Now that was pretty sick as well!

I'd pick Kobe, just because Kobe is known to be able to take over and win it himself. Without team support LeBron can't win it. That's the difference. LeBron dunks all the time, and he didn't DUNK over Kevin Garnett, he dunked over the entire team after shaking them all off when he went in. Only KG was there to give him any grief in the end. Now he's really good, but in the game he needs to apply those skills to win it. Kobe does that. He wins the games with what he has.

Lebron James is not the next Michael Jordan, regardless of how hard Nike and the NBA try to promote him. I'd say that Lebron James is the next Clyde Drexler. Lebron gets way too much hype.
