D'Antoni Dough For Don Nelson Results?

I'm afraid that Jamie Dolan may have officially lost his mind. I thought he was redeeming himself and taking a step forward when he brought in Donnie Walsh but then he took a step back in saying "Hey Isiah, I'll keep paying you to look pretty and bring us all coffee and danishes ... Look but don't touch ... or speak". Now he's officially taken 3 steps back by not only hiring Mike D'Antoni to coach his spoiled, thuggish and overpaid batch of bruthas in New York City but agreeing to pay him MORE THAN GREGG POPOVICH MAKES. Popovich, despite his passive aggressive bullsh*t, and whining about each and every call that he doesn't get, DOES have FOUR RINGS and is only making $5m a year. Granted it looks like Pop's window has shut this season due to the Hurricane Hornets but he must be doing SOMETHING right to get to the Finals year after year AND walk away with some bling. Mike D'Antoni, on the other hand, has coached for 6 years, been in 4 playoffs and won 3 division titles. NO CONFERENCE TITLES, NO NBA TITLES......NO BLING. AND HE'S GETTING SIX MILLION A YEAR. Someone take Jamie Dolan's checkbook away. PLEASE. Even Marvin Lewis is going "SAY WHAT?" It's not enough that Dolan is paying Stephon Marbury just shy of $20m to throw tantrums and keep it interesting on the bench but he's now made another aggregious mistake by bringing in someone who has no hope of bringing them a title. I think the best fit for the Knickerbocker Bunch (and HEAR ME OUT!) would have been KELVIN SAMPSON, despite him being hired as an assistant in Milwaukee. For all his flaws, he is a REALLY good coach and those Hoosier kids STILL really respect him and would throw themselves into traffic for him. He's a no nonsense coach who can throw down and command the respect of these fools who apparenty like to walk all over their coaching staff and behave like "The animals run this zoo". Mark Jackson is too soft, Rick Carlisle is just too long out of the game and Avery Johnson is just a hot mess. Looks like the Knicks (and their fans) are in for another year of yawning and more of the same. Maybe Madison Square Garden could comp some beers to the fans who show up.... Cuz nothing will get the crowd chanting "Let's - Go - Knicks" faster than free hooch, right? :-)
