Do The Spurs Have The Hornets Figured Out?

Just sitting here watching the game and wondering where the great Chris Paul is tonight. The Spurs' strategy seems to be to keep Paul from driving the lane and it is paying off right now. Parker is giving Paul a little lesson right now. Not sure if it will last, but it's fun to watch.

The Spurs still have to get a win in New Orleans before I say they've got the Hornets figured out.

But then again, I wasn't able to catch the game today.

The last six quarters have been a Spurs lesson to the Hornets. I'm sure it will be different in New Orleans, but the champs are not going to go quietly. Hornets are just lucky they have home court.

I agree, I told a friend yesterday that both the Hornets and the Lakers are lucky to have home court, it seems like it's impossible to win in SLC, and the Hornets aren't too bad at home.

Same goes for Boston, but I'd imagine they'll get their first Playoff road win tonight in Cleveland.

No road win yet, Britney.

I know my next statement might be WAY too serious for the Yard (I tend to go there sometimes), but it just might be that the advantage a championship (and fundamentally sound) team like the Spurs has over the other teams in the West is its ability to make adjustments. Making adjustments vs. just running the same old thing and hoping it works from game to game, separates the good teams from the great teams. We'll see if it was a fluke, and we'll see if the Hornets can do the same when they get back home.

Btw, I really like the Spurs (and Duncan finally killed it for my fantasy team). HURRAY!

You are exactly right, Kat. i think coaches sometimes get so attached to thier game plan (ahem, Don Nelson)
that they see making adjustments as a personal failure or something.
I personally, have no horse in this race so it is just exciting to see good basketball with no bias.

*ahem Mike D'Antoni...

I don't think that's too serious for the yard and I've read that a lot. Because I really dislike the Spurs that's all I will say.

I don't love the Spurs either, but I do respect the team and their accomplishments this past decade. Popovich is maybe the best at what he does now.

I'm with ya fiverings.

Not a fan of the Spurs but there is no denying they know what it takes to win.
You have to respect that.

It looks like the Spurs might have their number, but they still have to win a road game to win the series. They shifted some of their focus from CP3 to his teammates, like Bowen on Peja instead of Paul. And what's up with homecourt advantage right now?

I agree that the Spurs will need to take this next game in N.O. or it may be over for them. Of course, if the Spurs win, it will be interesting to see how the young team of N.O. responds when their backs are against the wall. Should be a hell of a game 5.
