It's Official...

Ybbbbbb, what's good. Its your boy Boom. Its offcial, I'm a Clipper, and it feels great! One of the big reasons I wanted to come back home was so I could impact the communities of my hometown in a positive way, and I'm excited to do that. I was trying to wear number 85, in honor of the street I grew up on and where my basketball career was truly started by my grandfather who built my first hoop in our backyard. However, I chose number 1, I've worn it before and feel comfortable in it. Oooo and be on the lookout for some special edition number 85 jerseys! HUH!! Honey I'm homeeee!! LOL. We have a lot of work to do as a team, and I'm ready for the challenge. But, its time for a couple days vaca and then back on the grind. Gotta get to the jet. I'm out!

BD i no the whole thing with your boy EB. Forget it you and the caveman is going to be the best pg c combo in the nba. Good luck this season, enjoy your summer, and get the clipps in the playoffs. See you in DC when you come. Chase Wizards Ball Boy

Baron, Clipper1 here. Glad to see it is official you are a Clipper. Sorry bout that whole Elton Brand mess. Thats OK though like Dunleavy said this is Barons team now. There still is some nice young talent on that squad though. Thornton is going to be a nice player. Eric Gordon could end up being a more athletic version of Monta Ellis. He reminds of a guy who used to play w/ KG in high school named Ronnie Fields except with a jumper.Whats up with Cuttino Mobley he couldnt give up that #5?

gordon a more athletic version of monta ??? LMAO! are u on crack?

I love Monta's game, but wait and see Gordon is crazy athletic and plays above the rim. He is also bigger and stronger than Ellis. Dont know if his heart will measure up though. Monta plays hard. There were times this year when i questioned Gordons heart.

I didn't see anything on Gordon that reminded me of Monta. If he was a more athletic version on Monta, he should be a beast

Gordon is bigger and stronger and is just as athletic (not sure who said more) as Monta....Saw him play in highschool and in college and when he takes it to the hole he can finish strong.

All Ive heard is that Gordon is a good shooter. Ronnie Fields had the full package. I hope your not trying to hype up this Clipper team.

HollyBoom!!! Thoughts on Elton leaving the team???

hahaha it really is official....man I can't wait to get to L.A. now to see you play as a Clipper. But anyways you gotta let us know when those number 85 jersey's go on sell because im def gonna have to get some for me and the niece cuz your her favorite player! Good luck this season.

Thanks for backstabbing all of us Warriors Fans! You promised you were going to stay and then bolt to LA when u first get a chance.. Thanks a lot Baron. Hope you enjoy making all those movies and enjoy playing on the worst franchise in professional sports. btw.. YG! ya digg!

Diddy - You became my favorite player when you joined the Dubs... I still got love 4 u, but you bout to get Clipped (and I don't mean your beard) this year.... Brand and Magette dipped, u going to have to average a trip/dub....Not sure if you are 2nd guessing yourself, but my gut tells me u should have stayed in the Yay.. Good luck though, you still my #1 player, I got like 100 of your rookie cards that I am passing on to my sons when they get old enough. And, after almost tossing the Golden State Warriors #5 Jersey, I decided to keep it a memory of the We-Believe run in 2007...ya digg?

DAM BOOM IT STILL KINDA HURTS MAYNE U WENT TO UCLA WIT MY CUZ WHO IS ALSO FROM LA WE GOT THE SAME INITIAL AND LAST NAME I THINK WE CUZZINS BUT IM JUS MAD CAUSE YOU TOLD THA FANS, PLAYERS, COACHES DAM THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD YOU WAS COMIN BACK AND BOOM YOU SHAKE THE SPOT FOR THE CLIPPS? THE CLIPPS? I STILL GOT THE POSTER ON MY WALL OF THE AK-47 PLAYOFF DUNK I DUNNO WHAT IMA DO WIT IT YOU NOT A DUB NO MORE AND I DONT SUPPORT CLIPPS. I GUESS YOU WANTED TA GO BACK HOME HELLA BAD SO BOOM THERE YOU GO.

Clippers wont make it into the post season thats the truth. The west is to tough now a days. Barron you need more than young talent. Your always getting injured too. What if you go down with an injury then what? Last season was the first 82 game season you've had in a long time. Chances are that your not going to have another 82 game season. Clippers cant be relying on Chris Kaman to develop. I'm sorry no disrespect to the guy but hes just average. Good luck to you though bro I'm a big fan of yours and hopefully you can make me eat my words. Your a great player.

I would have love to have you on the Zers but you took a step back. Gordon looks like he might be alright, Kaman I'm pretty sure only speaks hyrogliphics, and Thornton is a great young prospect but I think you had a better shot in the bay. The Blazers are the only team we have here so I can appreciate wanting to better your home community but I think you could have affected more out of the bay. Your a big personality but it might get a little washed out in LA. Love your game, don't miss read it, good luck in LA.. . . . .But on that note "Beat LA, Beat LA, Beat LA", RIP CITY BABY!!!!!!!

glad you're here..can't wait until the season starts.

You would not have upset Warrior fans if you made your announcement before the draft. Warriors could have drafted differently and even waited after their trade exception expired. Indeed, such behavior is the epitome of immaturity and selfishness. Why even say you're going to stay when in the back of your mind you really wanted to go to LA anyway, thus screwing the Warriors? Well karma could not have come any sooner... thanks to Brand and Maggette leaving, Clippers will be back as a perennial team with a losing record and you will suffer the consequences with a team even worse than the Warriors.

*sigh* I 'spose you had your reasons. Who doesn't want to go home? I 'spose you had to say what you did about wanting to stay in the yay area. Who wants bad PR if you had shown your feelings about wanting to leave and end up staying? Right?
As a "Baron Davis and the Warriors" fan, I can't help but think that the organization screwed you in some way to mess up what we felt was a team that wouldn't break. It was like one of those dream teams that we didn't want to change (except in a few areas) and stick and grow with for the next 5 years.
Well, good luck with your ventures. Hurts to cheer against you, but I gotta stick with new era dubs.
My last post,
Dru

Best of luck Baron!

everytime baron speaks hes trying to defend his decision to go to the clippperss....hahhaa everyone knows it was a horrible mistake, baron, just admit it already!! have fun on that horrible team this year...maybe chris kaman will teach u to speak german...ohwait, hes not german!

the clippers are a team full of phonies!

BD is going to bring Showtime back to LA and it will have nothing to do with the Lakers. I love it! People are sick of smug Kobe. The Clippers are going to shine with Boom. Much respect for going home man.

yay baron!

You have a lot of work to do as a team? Baron my friend, you guys need a complete new team. Judas.

Oh ya, go Warriors.

YEA BRUH QUIT HATING .

Boom.... im glad ur happy man. Good for u, glad ur makin a change, but in an interview u had a couple of days ago, u said something about u ALWAYS KEEEPING UR WORD!?
say what?
so does that not include u keeping ur word TO THE BAY?
I think its not far that u left us hanging like that, especially when everyone out here had your back and supported everything you WANTED TO DO OUT HERE! its not fair that u left all this stuff behind, all of ur UNFINISHED BUSINESS... if u will.
How do we pick up ur pieces now?

Anyways i aint hating on u for this, im just lil bit in awe of this whole situation...

Even after Brand left, why couldnt u just swallow ur pride and come back? U were tryin to help the communities out here, so u decided to drop them n go off to LA to do it there?
kinda confusin if u ask me.

Anyways, best of luck in the upcoming season, just keep playing hard for the love of basketball.
You were always heart, just dont let that fade away.

Not gonna happen

Most certainly before the lame ass Clipps. We're just a PG away from being in the race again and most likely Monta is gonna tear it up as the PG.

oh and maggette and brand both leaving? i believe thats called karma

`*~*Spraks*~*~ oh man to bad u movin now i need to switch a team - cuze i don't fan of warriors i fan of Baron Davis ! man do what u think cuze ur fans won't leave u .

Yo BD. Hope you are happy man. And I hope you guys turn that thing around out there in LA. It's going to be tough though with the limited talent that is around you. So good luck man, and do not pay those haters any mind, becuase they are just going to hate you more when you start doing your thing for the Clips. Play hard and leave everything on the court, and then no one can sat s#*t to you. Peace.

best of luck Baron. Definitely a jersey pick this coming season.

baron fighting

did you write the baron davis song from the other page?

As a Warrior fan I thank you for the best years of your career! Its a shame they are now behind you!

Donald Sterling and Elgin Baylor are so broke azz

Funny thing how the clipper fans are pissed off at brand leaving philly when baron did the exact same thing to the warriors. I wasn't surprise he left gs, but i am surprise the way he handled himself leaving the warrior nation. If your gonna leave a team that the fans and players adore you so much, at least leave with class then be a a scared like a little boy and avoid the situation.

Is it just me or does NBA team management make absolutely no sense...no sense to the point where it seems like the nba is just a big cash cow for cities to flourish. Sports is a huge attraction for major cities in the us and is dependent for it's cities to attract corporatations to move into their city.

La Lakers get extremely unfair (for rest of teams in conference) and lobsided trade from laker alumni Jerry West in Memphis (shouldn't teams in the league be able to veto such a bs trade? like in fantasy sports?). Boston Celtics, get KG from Celtic Alumni Kevin Mchale. Collusion like my man D Wang has been saying the whole year.

LA's staple center is in Downtown LA, great for the corporations that work in the downtown area. Also Laker fans in the lower level are all rich yuppies, hardly real fans who get spoiled with championships and do not understand real basketball. They ooo and ahh when someone dribbles behind the back to avoid a defender, if you play basketball this happens a few times a game. Boston, the city of championships. Celtics, NE Patriots, Red Sox...

All i'm saying is: a little more than a year ago the warriors had: Baron, J-Rich, Jacko, Al, Biedrens and Monte off the bench. This team was maybe the most lethal offensive attack in NBA history, capable of beating any team any given night, streetball or nba.

They were not even together for one full year.

Why would warriors management break this up? From a basketball standpoint the trading of J-Rich made absolutely no sense. From a business standpoint they wanted to keep monte for long term. Makes perfect sense for keeping a team afloat but not for a team to win a championship. Why wouldn't they keep the whole squad together for one full season? It was obvious monte was gonna blow up this past season, off the bench or starting, it would not have mattered. The $ books show that we could've kept our team together for at least one year. And whos to say, if we had come close to winning the championship this year, why wouldn't some players take a paycut to keep the team together, ala the Detroit Pistons.

the excuse that trading j-rich for KG, i have heard, but i don't buy it.

moving j-rich to an nba expansion team so that city would flourish a little bit more and having the warriors stay afloat for the deadly western conference makes perfect sense from a business standpoint.

the nba seems to be nothing but purely business and never about basketball.

but then again thats what this country has been founded upon, business. i'll give the example of the founding of the country. The british encounter peaceful indiginous people, the native americans. They decide to annilate the entire race so they can "own" the land and exploit it for it's natural resources and also exploit people in the slave trade. the native americans understood that land cannot be owned, not profitable from british pt of view, so they have a genocide of the Native American people.

the majority of the US is brainwashed with some type of sport. a perfect distraction to distract it's people from such matters which really matter like the war, peace, love. War is one of the most profitable businesses in the world. Peace and love would only benefit the world and not the people running it's pockets.

The True Warrior Fans never recieved an explanation for the J-Rich trade. And the 10 million trade exception was not used....

This past season was loaded with official bandwagon warrior fans. Again great for business but heartbreaking for true basketball fans...high ticket prices and an unlively crowd.

It has lead me to the question of:

is rooting for a league based on business and not based on basketball worth rooting for?

The 06-07 warriors i truely believed

the 07-08 warriors i only hoped.

You do realize that Jerry West had nothing to do with the Pau Gasol trade right? He retired as the GM at the end of the 06-07 season. Also, while the Dubs have been fairly entertaining for the last three years, describing them as the "most lethal offensive attack in NBA history" is a fallacy. Also, here is the reason JRich was traded: Monta Ellis. They play the same position, no need to keep one if you have a cheaper, better option. In closing, I didn't read most of your post because...well...frankly, it wasn't that insightful.

actually i don't take it back, they were one of the most lethal attacks the nba has SEEN, but of course if other teams were not confined to their systems and were able to play freely like the warriors we would have probably seen a more lethal offensive attack. if you play pick up ball you would see that that's how the warriors play. and of course if you have a big center, you'd run your team through your center, so i ain't knockin systems all i'm saying is they're restricting, but work if you got such a dominant player. like mj or shaq, the dream, whatever, but if your system is no system then i believe thats the way to go so you don't limit your thinking, like bruce lee said, use no way as way, and no limitation as limitation.

you do realize that what i said was not said well but has truth to it right? KG, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen for boston? Bought team. Pau gasol to lakers. Bought trade. you can defend all the MEDIA reasons you want, but if you actually know and play basketball you would not make the move memphis made and you would not trade KG, one of the best players in the league, for a bunch of mediocore players and one selfish decent player. therefore making my point about the NBA being more about business than basketball. The nba is made of FRANCHISES. you kinda get my point now? oh and what i said about the warriors being the most lethal offensive attacks in nba history, yeah i take it back, but any given night they coulda beat any team in nba history. my point of the j-rich trade was that we coulda kept that team together for a year and possibly won a championship. they went like 12-15 the last month and a half of the season, they were basically starting to gel as a team since they had only been together for less than half a season, so i was saying if we had played for a full year then you would've seen the full capabilities of that warriors team, instead we had 48 wins and didn't make the playoffs instead of playing a full year together and winning 58 plus wins and made a run at the championship. so of course they made a business move because the nba is a business and it pisses me off that it's not about basketball.

oh yeah and you mentioned you were entertained by the warriors the past 3 seasons. i lived the past 3 seasons and missed maybe a handful of games, i watched the evolution of the team, proving that i know a little more about the situation than you. i know the warriors woulda had a real shot at the title if they had not traded j-rich and played a full season together as they had a shot, but lost b/c of some free throws at the end of a couple games against the jazz. missing free throws at the end of playoff games is understandable after not going to the playoffs as a team in 13 years. it takes time for a team to click and be a cohesive unit. it took mj like 3 or 4 years to win a title, it prolly woulda taken that warriors team about a year or two to win a title. your entertained opinion is a fallacy.

ok i'm sorry if i'm coming off as a total donkey, i'll respond to your post in a more reasonable manner, thank you for the knowledge Jerry west had nothing to do with the trade. the most lethal offensive is debateable and i would love to debate and prove that it is true. and yes the jrich trade was business, but i hope you see my point why i'm pissed as a bball fan for management not making a good basketball decision.

and the NBA not wholly being about basketball. the USA vs Spain gold medal game was the best game i've seen in a long time. The past NBA championship was an over hyped bought finals and not much to do with basketball, as seeing KG win the championship with the wolves would have had much more meaning and heart.

I thought you wanted to win a championship?

Man yall are hella salty...Yes i get it Baron left the warriors your mad get over it! Because its 2 late for him to come back to the Warriors. He gets to play at home in front of family and friends. And he gets to help his community too. Stop being selfish and think about all those kids who are going to see a man of color that came from where they came from playing basketball and doing something positive with his life. So instead of being hater be glad that hes doing something for his community and delivered the Dubs from their scarred Mike Montgomery days into a respectable playoff worthy 48 win team!
